Let’s look at it. Metroid Prime is one of the biggest series of the 6th and 7th generations and ultimately the most critically acclaimed franchise of the timeframe. Metroid Prime won countless awards for it’s amazing innovation in about everything. The game was nonetheless amazing. The followup although not as great was still a huge game.
Retro Studios was put on the map by making one of the greatest games of all time. Unluckily though Metroid Prime 3 is the last game in the Prime series. After that I’m sure a new Metroid storyline will start off but not for awhile. Remember it took forever before Prime came from the last ones.
Retros Studios has amazing development talent and really one of the best small development teams in the business right now. So what’s next for them after Corruption releases on the Wii this holiday season. they had many games planned for the GC later canceled in favor for Metroid Prime. Could these titles revive. Or even better could an entirely new IP arrive from these developers. What do you guys think.
I bet that in MP3 there will be a certain surpise in the storyline that leads to a whole new plot for an incredibly new metroid storyline after prime. This is the end of the prime series but not the end of FPS metroid games, I am sure there will be many more to come, Anyone betting that a whole new ground up game will be made soon? I bet that there is a possiblity of a Metroid Prime Hunters 2. They have said 79 new First Party DS games were in the works so there is a chance.
A MPH2 would be awesome. They just have to make the single player much better. and improve the mutliplayer a bit even though its already really good or maybe 1-2 more hunters.

Not everything Nintendo is the best. Metroid is definitely one of its weaker franchises, especially considering how fast the price goes down for those games.

Well believe what you want but if there is a series that deserves all the high ratings, other than Zelda, it’s Metroid. I mean it’s not the 3rd most critically acclaimed game for nothing.
And yes the original Metroid was groundbreaking as it wasn’t linear. Do you understand what linear means.
