I hear all these N-fanboys lavishing about how amazing this remote control is going to be, when it’s really just some lame excuse to distract your attention from weak-ass specs.

There’s nothing 'new' about using a remote for playing games, the CD-i used a remote and we all know how badly that burned. But I hear you say it will use a shell for playing traditional games. Nintendo being Nintendo will make sure developers only use it as a last resort, and won’t pack this thing in, making it an obscure seperate accessory that hardly anybody owns like the multitap device for the SNES and PS2.

As for the so called 'backwards compatability' that is heralded for play old NES and SNES games, while it’s great in theory, it sucks in practicality. It’s just software emulation and you can enjoy all the fun of REBUYING all those games you paid $60~$80 for! Amazing! Even better is that these games will look like shit when stretched in 640x480, which brings me to my next point.

What’s the deal with skimping on the Graphics and HDTV support? Sure, it may not be essential now, but HDTV’s are going down in price and will boom just like the DVD format did after it sat in the market for a few years. Standard def TV games look like stretched pixellated dogshit on a nice 52' LCD hdtv or DLP projector. And a lower resolution does not always mean better graphics performance. The Xbox360 and PS3 would probably be better at rendering even in Standard TV mode because they have more processing power underneath to handle the task, keeping the framerate smoother, as well as looking better thanks to superior GPU’s.

As for the games, you’re going to see more Zelda, Metroid and Pokemon, as well as the whored out Mario Plumber games. A revolution in gameplay is going to need NEW and FRESH character development. What’s the point of playing something new if it’s stacked full of arcane 20 year old gaming mascots? Since the Days of N64 I’m convinced that Nintendo is just trying to whore out Mario to appeal to their fickle fanbase who are too scared to try out something with new characters, and so we are treated to a slew of games that didn’t need Mario, but had him shafted in just for the hell of it (Soul Calibur II and DDR probably would have sold worse if it wasn’t infected with Nintendo Mascot cameos).

rev may not be as powerful(may not, nintendo never released any specs) but it will still be able to have graphics on the same level of 360 and ps3. besides, graphics arent evrything, just a gimmik that most are swayed by. it doesnt affrct gameplay(unless they are so bad that you cant see anything) super metroid and lozshockedoc were 2 of the best games ive ever played and they were for snes and n64 respectivly.

the remote has a frikin motion sensor just incase ya didnt know. theres nothing “cheap” about it. and there will be controller shells.

thats all i have time to post now.

Woah. woah. Who ever said the Nintendo Revolution was going to have bad graphics. If I remember correctly we don’t even know what tech specs are and we haven’t seen any pictures of any games. So we don’t even know what the graphics are. So what do you work for Nintendo and do you’ve seen all the games. I don’t think so. Don’t be biased. Wait until we se pics of the games first before you make your comments. All I know is I can gurantee you that the revo will have amazing graphics just wait and you’ll seee.

ANd the key word is you said in a few years HDTV will be big. Well duh dude. YOu are saying about 4-5 years. You know what happens every 4-5 years. A new console comes out. Geez think before you post.

continuation of my last post...

The virtual console is great for getting games you cant get anymore. Also nintendo said something about touching up on older game’s visuals.

Tell me, how many actual mario games have there ever been for N64 and GC. 1 on each if im correct. Oh wow, thats really overdoing it(sarcsm). And just for the record, Mario wasnt in Soul Caliber II. Link was as a GAMECUBE exclusive character, just as PS2 and XBOX had exclusive characters. If thats your idea of overusing characters, than what do you call M$ putting mc in DoA.

Now, tell me, what do Xbox and PS3 offer besides grapics? Nothing.

Nintendo’s new system has a lot more than anyone gives it credit for. I mean the virtual console, the small sleek design, 2 controllers for 2 ways of playing, and all the games you can’t get elsewhere, and the backwards compatibility with GC games. That is alot to offer just right there and that is less than half the system.

But the games and the new way to play is a good enough reason for me to buy the system.

What are you stupid, boy. You don’t know how to work a remote. So you must get up everytime you need to change the channel cause you just don’t know how to work a remote. Please humor me some more. I’m enjoying this.

Hahahaha lol black brick. Wow only heard that a few times before. Why haven’t I heard that a lot. Well maybe cause revo looks nothing like a brick. It is a sleek small system. Plus brick would more describe the X360 if we went really by shape. Your going to have to do a lot better than that. Make sure before you make comments that you know what your talking about.

Wait here is a good picture to compare the Nintendo Revolution to the others to show you how tiny and sleek and cool-looking it is.
OH and the revo is going to get smaller and sleeker.

Oh I know what that remote does, nothing a Gyration 3D mouse doesn’t already do for the PC. They still suck compared to the Keyboard and mouse because there are less function buttons and you end up using it with the keyboard anyway, as for the aiming, it’s still fidgety and weak comared to laser mice.

Suck compared to the mouse and keyboard. This revolutionizes the mouse and keyboard. The remote allows for one PC games to be an easy port to the Revolution. Secondly the controller makes certain genres that are easy on the PC easy on the Revolution.

shothawk-

well if u dont know what the rev has to offer than dont buy it but if u want to find out all of the goodness of the rev then just look it up and after u find out every thing about the rev and u still dont want it then u must be a biased fanboy because who wouldnt want to play games in a whole new way.

ps.alot of people are getting sucked in by the rumors ign is spewing out about the revs specs, NEWSFLASH Nintendo hasnt released any specs yet people are saying the rev will have shitty graphics as if it will have worse graphics than the GC but the graphics will be awsome and be on par with x360 titles, i will put my money where my mouth is on that,

if ign were to put out rumors about the rev being more powerful that 360 then no xbox/ps3 fans would believe them....but as soon as a rumor comes around saying that the rev will be less powerful thay act as if its a proven fact heh
