Should Console devs (sony, microsoft, nintendo) spend more time making there console?

In recent news, It is believable that if console developers spend more time than the average 4 years to make a console, wouldn’t it be better to take maybe 7 or 8 years to release?

I know the ps3 took maybe 6 years, but if the 360, for example, took maybe atleast 2 years more, it would have been better, in my opinion. Now your opinion may be different, due to the fact it would have been released after the other two.

Yeah I remember my N64 how there was no need for updates and all that stuff, now with my 360, theres always a fall and spring update.

and PS3 has firmware updates frequently. and the Wii.. I dont think there is updates yet (on the console).

The updates on the wii are new channels and new options on the realeased channels.

bak then hardly any online support so they never updated lol. besides updates on 360 take about 5 secounds....PS3 about 5 minutes and Wii.....well i don’t know because mine doesn’t ahve online. I don’t even know how to get it hooked up online.

I agree. I’m down with them taking more time on making they’re consoles. Also, I don’t like shelling out $500 every 6 years to get the new console.
