as for power...

i will nto go thru their full abilitities...sonci prefrs using his higher tier speeds, while shadow prefers chaos powers..

but, they’ve used them, foguht each other, and have an equal number of wins and losses, While they ALSO HAVE MORE DRAWS than wins and losses combined

In the game shadow the hedgehog He... flipped a bus with 1 hand. lifted 20 tons of concrete and threw it 20ft. killed giant aliens with his bear hands, with just 1 blow, and picked up giant steel boxes. He, unlike sonic, actually posesses physical strength. If you dont believe me, look up the game. Shadow was created in a game, so thats his official story. no one reads the comics. Ive never heard even of them. When he takes his rings off, hes invinsible, he destroyed 1000s of mephleses that way. 1 killed sonic. He also beat up silver who kicked sonics ass, shadow showed silver whos the man with a spinning back kick and sent him flying, because he, once again isnt physically weak. Hes just as fast if not more. So sonic wouldnt stand a wimpy chance.

Sonic x is a piece of childish 4kids tv crap, so it doesent count. Shadow is much physically stronger. Dont you ever compare that wuss to him. • Shadow defeated Sonic & Diablon in Shadow’s self titled game - (it is only possible to count 1 of these as it would be impossible for any more to have happened) however there is the possibility that none of them happened since there were paths that didn’t have it and Sonic wasn’t confrontational to Shadow in Last Story, furthermore Diablon was not finished and a team is only as strong as its weakest member so Diablon could have dragged Sonic down

• All other Sonic vs Shadow battles are draws or the story was able to proceed without naming the victor and can just be assumed to be draws.

• Shadow beat Silver after Silver beat Sonic - but Sonic had Silver on the ropes when Silver “played possum” and Silver still had some fight in him at the end of the fight with Shadow plus Shadow was using the power of a Chaos Emerald to beat Silver

My conclusion, well everything is just to muddy, they’ve been stated as equals so any battle would probably go either way.

as for gameplay...haha, yep, it’s mechanics, doesnt take out the canonity, although you’re right in your way of looking at it..

to settle this, i’m sure the developers don’t care THAT much...but knuckles once stated shadow and possibly the others(sonic ,etc) must have a direct connection to the chaos force..

i won’t ponder over which will end up coming true in the future, because it’ll never come into play...i mean, either way, Sonic/Shadow will do what they want..

but i’d wager that such and such, after sonic battle/whatever, if shadow in this battle uses Chaos Control without a emerald, then Sonic has the capability as well..
Ha, probably the only semi-good example is his Sonic Wind attack...although it’s rival, Chaos Spear, has become more famous and developed in games

Thanks and I was mostly going off the games material. I don’t know how I sound familiar but I have posted on other boards...

I know in the Archie comics Shadow has a link to the 'Chaos Force' but Archie tends to stray farther from the source material than Sonic X and I was only talking about the games before...

...and in Sonic X there is actually never a time when Chaos Control is used without Emeralds (or fake Emeralds) - in fact Shadow’s bio says “He also has the ability to create Chaos Control with just one Chaos Emerald” which is pretty definitive. The whole 'undefined close proximity to Chaos Emeralds and no physical contact needed' thing works in Sonic X just as it does in the games.

Sonic Battle didn’t define what he needed the Emerald for (other possibilities are his injury and his memories of Maria), and he never used Chaos Control again after giving up the Emerald (outside of gameplay which isn’t canon as I said in #1 of my previous post, although it did follow the proximity rule)

So in Archie comics Sonic, Shadow does not need Emeralds, but in Sonic X and the games Shadow does.

Oh and I should have added to Shadow’s strength - not only is gameplay not canon or else Cream has super strength but the manual downplayed Shadow’s strength by saying things too large for him to lift can be overturned

shadow is alot stronger than sonic. In a story movie, it showed shadow kicking down huge aleins displaying great physical stength. Now this was offical because it was a story movie, not gameplay, and was in fact cannon. So ha!
