xbox 360 is more powerful if any of you say that killzone2 will kick halos ass... well guess what KILLZONE2 was prerendered and fake it wasent even built on the ps3 becasue they havent finalised it yet, the xbox has no flaws \, ps3 however, it looks like a frige and the controllers look like 2 headed dildos for gay ppl who like sony, and the revoulution is only 2 time more powerful then the gamecube and also looks shit. PS3 AND XBOX 360 HAVE “POOR CPU PERFORMANCE”

Tech-heads claim that Sony and Microsoft are promising more than they can deliver in the processing department

15:08 Sony’s PS3 and Microsoft’s Xbox 360 will not be as powerful as their technical specifications - and clever marketing - make out when they land in your living room, according to technical experts.
In an article on website Anandtech the author explains why the two next-gen consoles will not be as powerful in 'real terms' (i.e. when they actually have to crunch games) as they may seem from the specs touted by Sony and Microsoft.

Anandtech ultimately surmises that both consoles will be around as powerful as each other. On top of that bombshell, it’s suggested that neither next-gen console will offer the advances in power-draining areas like game physics we were expecting.

According to the report the Xbox 360 will only be twice as powerful as the original 733MHz Xbox, while the seven Synergistic Processing Elements (SPEs) in the PS3 will hobble the console’s peak performance to a similar power.
The article references anonymous developers with knowledge of PS3 and 360 dev kits as being “not pleased” with the performance of either system. However, it is pointed out the combination of superior processing power, smoother online gaming and wireless pads will make the whole next-gen console gaming experience far better than the current-gen machines.

And it’s not all bad news - Anandtech finds that the Graphical Processing Units (GPUs) in both the PS3 and Xbox 360 are extremely impressive. Developers are apparently “quite pleased” with the power of the GPUs, although the disappointing processing power does mean that they cannot be exploited to their maximum potential.

It’s worth remembering that these findings are not endorsed by Sony or Microsoft, but the Anandtech article makes interesting and enlightening reading for anyone interested in finding out what all those crazy numbers and letters on spec sheets mean. It even explains what a teraflop and a floating point calculation is, which is pretty special if you ask us.

Just an observation. But Sony fans suck at proving ther point here. Twice as powerful? No way. If you measure overall performance by floating point then you sholdn’t even be talking and 360 has three times the general processing power as PS3. Hmm, twice as powerful? Also, better games? Try fable, halo 1 and 2, KOTOR 1 and 2, DOA, Ninja gaiden, morrowind, PGR, Forza, better splinter cell, far cry, ghost recon. Plus FF and GTA have moved to xbox. Jak is over, and MGS looks like the only worthwhile PS exclusive left. Online. Live kicks PS2’s whatever is has’s a$$. Plus, the fact that PS2 owns the market is because they had a two year jump. Had the xbox released earlier PS wuld have been in serious trouble. I dont own either system but really MS is going to kick PS’s A$$ this time by releasing at christmas (why the hell would not release then?) and free live on weekends. Plus tons of next gen support (just look on ign.com) I really dont seee how PS3 is better, maybe if you like boomerangs...

I would have to say that its not the “Graphics Capabilities” that really matter when it comes to gaming systems, but rather the games themselves.

XBox... basically a showoff of DirectX and some expensive computer hardware. Except for HALO... no XBox game, that I recall, was ever that popular.

Playstation may not have had quite the 'oomph' that the xbox had, but the xbox hardy “kicked its ass." The games available for the ps2 were 100 times better than any games offered for xbox.

So there... PS2 > XBox

As far as the new systems... we’ll just have to see... but i’m beting on the PS3.

ok im back... i herd that the REV will have a touch screen where your thumb will go and there will be a picture of buttons on the screen and they change with every game so it will fit the game more. and the REV is suppost to have graphics that will make you say “WOW!" according to the president of nintendo. and for some reason i would like to say thant ZELDA: TWILIGHT PRINCESS will be game of the year and sold out first day. good thing i pre-orderd it!

yes i know that and countless people have tryed to correct me...i just wanted to spell it that way for the same reason that people spell cool/kool or dog/dogg i just wanted it to be different...but if u didnt know ganon in loz for the nes is spelled gannon... mabey because of translation issues, typo, im not really sure why its spelled gannon on the nes but. yeah i dont need to be corrected since i own every zelda game with the exeption of the three for CD-i and i have loz tp reserved

Lets face it the PC is the best because it can always be upgraded with new technology and will never die.

Xbox 360 has the best design console-wise and controller wise(unless Revolution is something totally awesome). The games look the most interesting.

The Revolution looks like it will be one of nintendo’s best consoles yet (I didn’t rank it no. 2 because almost everything right now is speculation), with the backwards compatibility and online library. Revolution also might end up the worst because as someone already said they put innovation above gameplay. If the contoller ends up being something that you control by some extremely odd method it will lose its appeal.

Sony lost my attention when they brought the GTA series to Xbox, and they started to release the Final Fantasy games to the PC. PS3 looks strange and so does its controller. The only thing that I would look forward to in a PS3 is the crazy Japanese games that come out such as Katamari Damacy and those types of games.

and for all you people know, the xbox 360 games could be prerendered.

and no, I think Microsoft said that they would not support xbox 1 games on their new console. but they could be for all I know, since they’re staying with single-layer DVDs and dual-layer DVDs.

PS3 will support PS2 games and PSX games (Playstation 1).


and brain, you obviously haven’t tried the newer online releases for the PS2.

i think that all of the system cost to much it should be free for how bad they well sell when they only sell about 1000 and all of the nerds will by them
