Standing your consoles up or laying down. Which allows them to run cooler?

I’m just wondering....

I keep my 360 standing up

I think it let’s air flow better and I also keep it in a very ventilated area

My Wii is alwasy up and my 360 is always flat. Just how I have it.

I stand my ps3 up on carpet and it runs pretty cool.

I heard keeping the 360 flat and having the PS3 stand up is best.

I heard the 360 can scratch disks if it moves with one in their. The ps3 vents are on top and in the back so keeping it standing is the best.

I heard it is always best to have a console laying down...

Reason: For 360 this doesn’t matter but for Wii and PS3 with how the diskdrive works eventually over time the disk starts slipping down and the grip of the drive gets loose and the laser damages the disk. A guy at Game Rush told me this.....

aa...i keep my PS3 laying down flat and it doesnt get any warmer in 12hrs than it would in one. Is there really a yellow bar of death? Like red rings? If its true its a rarity, then.

its best to keep the 360 laying down too. trust me, i got one of my disks scratched up because it was standing up and a slight tremor screwed moved it.
