I heard it is always best to have a console laying down...
Reason: For 360 this doesn’t matter but for Wii and PS3 with how the diskdrive works eventually over time the disk starts slipping down and the grip of the drive gets loose and the laser damages the disk. A guy at Game Rush told me this.....

aa...i keep my PS3 laying down flat and it doesnt get any warmer in 12hrs than it would in one. Is there really a yellow bar of death? Like red rings? If its true its a rarity, then.

its best to keep the 360 laying down too. trust me, i got one of my disks scratched up because it was standing up and a slight tremor screwed moved it.
