The Sims 2 & Sims 2 University Help!

hi im from Russia,but i live in New Zealand.I got the copied version of The Sims 2 but i bought The sims 2 uni, about that darkware said that u need to rename the disk to Sims2_4 is there other suggestions about the soliving of the update.Ok if you want to install the sims 2 and have them read when installing,and if you want to play sims 2 then listen to what ive done,it may not work but it works 100% on mine and on all computers ive tried.Ok when you copy the sims 2 make sure u copy each one by 4 disk,name them anything you want,now copy it,once your finshed install it,when it asking the disks just put the right ones yourve copied.Then when its finshed get The Sims 2 mini image which i got,ive got the link here ( search on google (GameFileForums - The ONLY Sims 2 Thread - Full No-CD (-DVD) Solution) ) if you cant fine the site make the search name shorter.it also has instrucitons on how to play sims 2 with out the disk,if you dont want go to straight there i can just copy and paste it here, (Q: The game asks for the correct CD / does not start at all / says that it has found emulation software and cannot start.

A: This is the most common problem that people have with Sims 2, so the following step-by-step guide should clear any questions you have. Make sure you follow it correctly.

1. First of all, install the game. Either from the CDs or the images on your PC, install the game and DirectX 9c, as well as the latest drivers for your graphics card, and restart if necessary. DO NOT, and I say DO NOT install any crack or mess with ANY file inside the game’s folder.

STOP AND READ HERE! Note that incompatibilities appear between many games and CloneCD. If you are willing to remove CloneCD, go directly to step 2b. If not, go to step 2a.

2a. Read CAREFULLY the instructions kindly provided by another user in this post and skip to step 4.

2b. Make sure you DO NOT have Clone CD installed AFTER the game is installed. If you still have it on your computer, go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and select Clone CD, then click Uninstall and follow the on-screen instructions. Go to Step 3.

3. To ensure Clone CD is no longer installed and no leftovers are inside your system’s registry (a.k.a. The Lifetime Memories of Windows), download this little utility that will help you remove all leftovers from your computer. Just download from the above link, install it, search for it in your computer through Windows Explorer (normally installed in C:Program FilesRegcleaner) and start it. Search through the list for any entry with both words “Clone CD” in it and select it for deletion.

4. Now download:
Sims 2 Mini Image
or
Sims 2 University Mini Image
Extract all its contents in an easy-to-remember folder such as C:Sims2MiniImage.

5. Make sure that Alcohol or any other virtual drive program that may be installed in your PC has got NO virtual drives currently enabled. Search the respective program’s documentation in order to find how you can disable ALL virtual drives it has created.

6. Download the latest Daemon Tools here:

7. Install Daemon Tools and restart your computer.

8. When your computer starts again, a new red or green icon with a thunder should appear on the bottom-right corner of your screen, the tray-bar. Click on it and go to Device 0.

9. Browse through your computer for the files you downloaded and extracted in Step 4 and select the SIMS21_MINI.MDS (for the original Sims 2) or the BLH-TS2U1.mds (for the Sims 2 University) file.

10. Wait 20 seconds, and then right click on the icon again and go to Emulation and then click on ALL OPTIONS ON.

11. Double-click on The Sims 2 shortcut on your desktop and the game should work fine.

P.S. It has worked for some that after running the game once, installing CloneCD again wouldn’t make the game stop working. Tell us if it works for you.)

Ok plz remeber to give me suggestions on how to install the update so that it reads the sims 2 disk ,The werld thing is that it reads the disk when i install The sims 2 but when i try to update The sims 2 uni or the sims ( i dont which) it just doesnt read it,it keeps showing the “plz insert The sims 2 disk 4” i would appreciate for the help.

Oh i forgot that the things i said arent to do with mounting onto disks cause i dont know how,they are for only using them as a crack on daemon tools

Sorry if im posting again its because im desperate to install The Sims University,as i cant return because of consumer right act policy something like that.Now ill start all over again so you can get more a more description.Ok, I borrowed The Sims 2 and copied each disk into different folders as Sims2 disk1,2,3,4 cant remember then i copied each folder but not the folder just the files into different disks.After i finshed i installed it,it worked fine and read my copied disks.For about 2 or 3 months,i didnt play cause i couldnt cause i didnt have a CD Crack and did’nt know how to do the mounting thing,then on friday 17 june i was at my dads,his computer was really fast installed the game it worked pefectly like i installed it before then i found a way to make a cd crack on gameburnwold as i mentioned the site on my preivous reply,it played like charm,no problems what so ever,then on saturday 18 june i went to noel leeming a shop, it had the no refund policy like i said,i was excited and my little sister whos 7 to play the game,we both put our money on it me $30 my sis $20,i prayed for it to work,finally we came home,i started to install it,it was pefectly well but one thing ruined it was that it couldnt read my copied Sims 2 Disk 4,it reads it when i install Sims 2.It keeps saying put The sims 2 disk 4 and i did,nothing works.Plz Help! I cant return this game back,I pray for it to work and pray for a way to fix it.

Wow what a really longgggggggg post. I didnt read all that i just skipped to the end,lol. I think your problem is it ask for disk 4 correct? Just patch and update the sims2 BEFORE you do the expansion pack and it shouldnt ask for that last cd anymore. If i’m way off about your problem, then please make a brief description of your problem.

I have,ive done that before.I downloaded the update but it still asks for the cd and i put it in,but it doesnt read

The only sure method to make it read the disc 4 is to download and install alochol 120%. Once done go to options, emulation, and put a check mark next to “RMPS” Now stick disk 4 in your cd-rom and go to alcohol and go to image making wizard and make a image of the disk. Now either burn the image to a disk and insert and play or mount the image on the virtual drive that alcohol 120 made for you.(You can find it in “My Computer” just right-click and select mount and point to the image) and now you have a disk that can be read. Hope this helps

Do i have to burn it on the disk or just a blank disk

Does it have to be disk 4,blank disk or just the real original sims 2 disk.

It Didnt work

i’m in need of help. when i go to any college in sims 2 unversity and i take/create a household and put them in the dorm...the loading page takes forever...it never loads...then to get out of it i have to press ctrl+alt+delete and shut the sims 2 off then rstart and when i go to the dorm the people are frozen and i can’t unfreeze them..no matter what treat i use. the CD is not stach and i have had this problem before. my regular sims 2 work great but just that porblem with the sims to unversity is killing!(sarcasm ) anyway i need to now how to get it to load. thx...

omg!! the same thing happens to me! Also, whenever they move into their dorm, the time wont move or if I tell them to do something they wont move. Somebody please help!!!!!

I need help. I have downloaded the sims 2 and the sims 2 university. I got my sims 2 to work fine but my university wont. I get the same message as everyone “please insert correct disk”. i have downloaded about 20 different no CD cracks but none of them work. i have even tried what someone suggested of making a copy with alcohol 120 but it didnt work. I was wondering if people who have the game working could please either post or e-mail me where they got the crack, which one it is and what they used to mount it and where the put the crack. I will love u all forever if u can help me

hey guys look i have sims delux and i tried 2 install it it kept on telling me put in disk 4 and there is only one disk which contains sims 2 and sims body shop and sims uni. and the rest of the sims that are out what shall i do?/?????

emm...i can’t install disk 4 , what should i do?
it keep telling me to put in disk 4, i do it but my pc didnt find the disk and i found nothing in the disk too...it only occur in my pc that my brother can play it in his pc

I was going to ask, I have downloaded the images of university and open for business. I got sims 2 working fine. But when I install the expansions it asks for the 4th sims 2 disk, so I load that disk in alcohol, and it accepts it and starts updating, but then it says, error occurred, and uninstalls the expansion. What could be causing this? Thanks.

hi guys can you help me please.. i have open for business and season expansions but I can’t get them to work together.. when i open “open for business” it works normal, but when i open “seasons” it says that i unninstaled open for business etc. and only seasons is working.. i can play them but not at the same time.. i mean i can’t have them both work as one.. can you please help me?
