Well, there were these jackasses that were so ubsessed with GTA that they actually went out and stole a car. There are probably more cases with gunshootings and all that crap but I can see why the government would see this as a potential threat. Besides, GTA sucks.

What Jack Thompson doesn’t seem to quite grasp is that the rating “Mature” is for people who are 17+, and not for little kids whose parents don’t quite grasp the ratings system. It’s not the video-game industry’s fault that there are children who are psychologically damaged and very (emotionally) unstable. This is most likely due to child abuse. Much of a child’s personality is formed in his/her first five years of existence, so if said children recieve abuse, it is going to become part of their personality and will have a very negative impact. I don’t know about you, but I wasn’t playing violent video-games when I was five years old.

So why isn’t he trying to protect children from child abuse instead of protecting them from video-games that while violent, have labels that dictate this clearly?

Some guy trying to ban violent videogames? If that happenend then that ban would be shorter then the ban on alcohol. What does this guy want to do? Make all people think that video games are bad and that we should just stick to the educational crap that strict parents buy their Kids? What is moron does not understand is that Videogames are just another type of hobby many people like just like reading, banning videogames is just like banning manga from the U.S. With Democrats in D.C. now they better not serew our country over just because of their veiws but aside from that I have to say if this is how things are going to be in germany then our country would be smart to not follow we have a DOI and the people in D.C. have been ingroing it for so long they would forget that we are entitled to seek whatever makes us happy and that we are free to choose our own lives. Besides the elections that have everyone concerned forget, every election is between a turd and a doche.
