Was the PS3 worth the hype!

I don’t have a PS3. I’m probably won’t get on till the price goes down but is it worth my money. I mean I know all the newest games for it like FolkLore,Lost,Rage and Wet have gotten alright ratings but most of those games and the Top rated games at E3 are for X-BOX360. So should I believe the hype? Do you?

However I do own a PS3, and to be honest, it plays PS2 and PS1 games very well. =/
