This includes all 3 7th generation consoles and the 2 handhelds. Make sure to state your reasons for your answer. And let me clarify when I say software front, I mean quantity of games, quality of games, and sales of games. All in one nice package.

Which System is Struggling on the Software Front the Most?
Alright I picked the PSP as I think it meets the qualifications perfectly. PSP software sales comparative to hardware sales is apsolutely atrocious. The amount of titles that sell well on it are awful, and ultimatley the only titles that do sell well are ports of PS2 games over there to fit the PSP.
The quantity of games on the platform are bad as well, as it only gets the multiplatform titles. Any exclusives it gets are PS2 ports or titles not comparative to DS titles. Not to mention all are few and in between.
Quality titles are not scarace but they jsut don’t sell. PSP has had a lot of inventive new IPs to come to the system but they don’t sell. Nor does the userbase tackle it.
PSP was the first hardware to ever compete in the handheld race against a Nintendo platform. But software wise the system is a disaster and a developer’s worst nightmare, as software on handhelds already don’t sell as much as they do on consoles. Now you got a platform that’s more expensive to develop for and less chance of getting a profit. It is an apsolute failure when it comes to software and a copmlete disaster on the software front overall.

I picked PSP cuz really where are the guud games @?
GTA, Ratchet and Clank, Daxter, Wipeout pure, tony hawk...
I dissagree I think PSP has great games for a handheld. I think PS3 needs to get better software. No, I don’t mean hacks for putting random stuff on, I mean games.
Surprisingly enough, I voted for the Wii. While the games is has are GREAT and EXCELLENT I have to say those games are only from Nintendo and well-known 3rd parties, reducing them to very few. The quality of games that are good are, for say, from Nintendo Campsom and EA (naming the ones that came to mind) the rest aren’t all that. I mean, games and games get released by 3rd parties just to get a bang for the buck with the Wii controller. I hope this year changes that.
As for the LEAST troubles, is easy to pick the 360. Its games are great, quantity and quality wise. I can’t say anything about the PSP or DS because I neither own them or have track of their software. Similar case with the PS3, but it has around 60% of the games the 360 has, which is good.
In terms of who has the best games? No doubt in my mind the Wii does, but based in a comparison to the good and bad games. The bad games are about 80%. The good are above great and some excellent if not perfect, though.
Definitely Wii. Most of the games that come out for it are beyond terrible. For such a high selling system, it really has only about 5 worthy games right now and the future for the games isn’t looking too great.
^^(wrong)resi evil, smg, ssbb, tp, metroid corruption and some other games whose names escape me. and there many ideas that could lead to the benfit of the wii such as the head tracking program made by johnny lee and the cheap DIY multi-point whiteboard
You mean hardware and no one thinks that. People just think the other consoles are more powerful, which is true. The Wii has more innovative potential while the PS3 and 360 have more casual gaming potential.
Part of that i agree on although i did saymight think. Forgive me if im misleaded but a lot of peoples comments are biast against the wii and do not try to find any of the potential that the wii may or may not show to others.
Well to tell ya the truth there is actually a correct answer to this, if you read what the qualifications are, but I’m sure most left it up to personal opinion.
The PSP actually fits the qualifications the best as most of its games have bad critical ratings, it lacks quantity of software, and sales of the software are atrocious.
Out of all the choice really only the DS doesn’t apply, as it has a diverse lineup, lots of quality games, and they all sale beastly.
Some people could make arguements on the 360 as well mainly for the lack of quantity which allocates to diversity, but otherwise there are much better choices than 360. So I’m at least glad that 360 and NDS haven’t been chosen, cuase if you choose them your probably just a sorry sad fanboy.
PS3 and Wii are definetly good choices. But they don’t fit all the scenarios perfectly. Wii definetly lacks a lot of big quality titles which is apparent in critical reviews as this is attributed to most 3rd parties giving it cash ins to feed off the huge userbase, but Wii has a large selection of games and its games sale pretty damn well as it has a larger userbase. PS3 definetly lacks in the software selling arena, but it still has a good selection of quality titles and a decent quantity of titles.
PSP was the best choice, and PS3 and Wii are somewhat acceptable, but not as good of a choice as PSP. Its important to always read in full what the question is asking before you let personal bias interfere with your thoughts.
