Why Don't They Have Mouse and Keyboard for Consoles?

Whats the deal? Why doesn’t Sony or MS have mice and keyboards for the PS3 or 360, if not simply for the First-Person Shooter games? Would much rather play Halo or Killzone or Bad Company this method. It doesn’t even seem like creating the software to accommodate a mouse would be that hard to include in all their games.

I almost wonder if they are afraid of a mouse ruining the challenge of their games that are designed to be played with a joystick. Not to mention online play, everyone that didn’t have a mouse would get blown away...

if i had a console in the first place for that matter a tv then i would know what u r talking about but sadly i do not have either of these luxuries...*sigh*

Because it’s a console, not a computer. BTW, there are third part transfer boxes for M/KB.

Right, but the games you play need to be designed to allow for a mouse and keyboard. Also, the gap between consoles and computers is becoming much smaller. Consoles have become much more PC like.

Still doesn’t answer my question of why console games (especially FPS) aren’t made to accept mouse and keyboards.

Also, Xbox F-ing blows in regard to third party hardware. They release firmware patches to force you to buy their way overpriced accessories instead. PS3 doesn’t give a shit though, you can plug in nearly any 3rd party device you want.
