Wii and DS Shipments as of the End of June 2007

Oh it just keeps getting better. Nintendo has released their financial report today and it is insane. Now for the financial side I’ll make another topic soon but typically all that I’d post there is in my link.

But the story is Wii and DS dominant success. Nintendo has confirmed that as of the end of June 2007 9.27 million Wiis have been shipped. Not only that but Nintenod has upped their fiscal year 2008 forecast in shipments from 14 million to 16.5 million. What that means is Nintenod had originall planned on shipping about 20 million as of the end of March 2008 but now they are planning on shipping around 22.3 million by the end of March 2008. This means Wii will have already outshipped it’s predecessor in 16 months.

Now onto DS. Nintenod has confirmed that as of the end of June 2007 47.27 million DS’s have been shipped worldwide. That is amazing. That means 7 million was shipped this quarter. Even further NIntenod has upped it’s predictions from 22 million to 26 million shipped this fiscal year 2008. That means by the end of March 2008 Nintenod plans to have 66 million DS’s shipped worldwide. That is apsolutely amazing.

They also noted that one other Wii title has shipped more than a million, being 3rd party. But actually there is 2 which is Red Steel and Rayman: Raving Rabbids published by Ubisoft.

And they noted that 10 other DS titles have sold over a million units which are 3rd party. In total 8 Wii titles and 32 DS titles have sold over 1 million units.
