wii doesnt play dvd movies !?!?!?!

It doesn’t support DVD playback yet, Nintendo plans to fix that next year.

It will ocst extra money, unless Nintendo finds a way to incorperate it into the Wii’s very small frame, while keeping the costs low, if this works the Wii won’t get a lower cost next year, but it won’t go up either.

So all in all it will be an even better package for the exact same price.

Pretty good deal if you ask me.

They are giving you the choice to let your wii play DVD’s it is a good choice if you want to make it into a multimedia divice or just use it for games like most other people.

If you have a PS2, and a DVD player... why does the Wii need to play DVDs? It’s kind of unnecessary.

Not really, they are on CD’s yes, but not the kind they use for movies, they have differnt codings.

Yeah but at least you have a choice for the uneeded stuff like the DS so it is entriely up to you.

dvd player should be standard, if it can play dvd rom games why couldnt they put the time in and make it play dvds, if they give a free download on the net so it will play dvds then i wont so pissed off, i was at least expecting it to play dvd r dual layer, but it cant play jack

2nd half of next year all Wii’s will come with dvd playback standard.

I’ll have too many dvd players. My PS2, my xbox, my computer, my other computer, my laptop, my other laptop, my other other laptop, another laptop again, my dvd player (built in to 1 of tvs), and my future 360.

yeah well i dont stay home all my life do i, im not gona bring my ps2 as well as my wii and its not worth setting up my other dvd player, onestly i dont see why they couldnt put a dvd player in it, all they need is software, i have no idea how nintendo managed to keep the media shut about this, if something happens to the ps3 which is les important like vibration the media are all over it and everybody knows, i never new the wii couldnt play dvds! what the fuck is wrong with the media!

I would rather have vibration than dvd playback. As long as if 1 of my consoles can play dvds I’m fine. They don’t all need to play dvds. Get an ipod, PSP, or something if you’re crazy about watching movies when you go out.

i play movies all the time and psp doesnt play my dvd collection.
it helps alot if the wii could playh dvds but onestly, why cant it!

It’s a game system, not a dvd player. If you want a dvd player or whatever get a 360 or PS3.
