Early today, Microsoft reveled to us a new add on that will be available for the Xbox 360 this fall, this feature will pluge into the USB port and do the following,
It features another 512 MB GDDR3 RAM (the same amount and type on the 360 already) in order to decrease loading times and texture pop in, as well for developers to use the extra RAM to improve overall quality of games, as well as a totally new tool, Microsoft reffered it to us as a “GFX-01 Mapping tool” which does the following:
All games, from launch till current, are given an Anti Aliasing update by 4x (so if a game has No AA, it goes up to 4X, if a game has 2X, it goes to 6X... 8X being available is unconfirmed) It also has 2 extra frame buffers built in which developers can use to update a none-true high definition game to full HD (for example Halo 3, Call of duty 4...) And the best news of all... it is cheap as hell... it will ship as a small USb Key with the games Far Cry 2, and Gears of war 2 this fall for only 5$ more then a standard game and is obviously worth so much more...
It’s been unconfirmed if it will be available without purchasing the two titles...
