Zelda series, vs, mario series

Which nintendo huge hit series is the best? Can link beat mario or vice versa? Etc.

My opinion is zelda is better because it is not as linear as mario series are most of the time.

Hard to say, both are the biggest game franchises in history. Mario’s games have ranged from just about every genere. ( Before you know it they will make a Mario FPS) Zelda games have always stuck to the traditional gameplay weather it was classic or 3d adventures. The Mario games have never been so hard but games that were worth seeking everything out to finish it fully like Super Mario World or Super Mario 64 (either version) And some of the best mario games have had lots of great humor like The Paper Mario series and the Mario and Luigi RPG games have had some of the funniest quirks in many games, sure there is a lot of text in RPGs but at least this keeps you entertained. Some Mario games have more depth then they appear and they take some skill to fully beat like the pit of 100 trails in Paper Mario TTYD. Other ones like Mario Strikers and Tennis have great humor in them, I mean in Strikers sure Nintendo decided to make a soccer game with a twist but to throw in an electric fence? Dam smart because what could’nt be better then tackling Yoshi or Peach into the wall and watching them scream in pain?

The Zelda series has always been unpredictable for each of the games there has always been a twist and a different feature on how to progress the story and how to solve some puzzles.

A link to the past- The light and Dark worlds so actions effect the other world.

OOT- The ocerina so you can play songs or warp plus the time travel to also progess the story.

MM- The masks and the 3 day time limit to keep the puzzle solving and fighting going.

OOS+OOA- The rod of seasons and the harp of ages for many reasons

WW- The wind waker to travel the huge sea and to control the wind.

TP- The wolf form so there is a different gameplay element.

The great thing is no matter what the zelda game is and whatever the new machinic for gameplay added is it still retains the great classic gameplay that made this series great today.

It’s tough to say for me. I like them both a alot, they are probably my two favourite series. I think however the Mario series might have a lead for me.
