The new game looks interesting even though they replaced the ship and ocean with a train and landscape. Phantom Hourglass was a very nice game and it was a nice continuation of the wind waker.
Now as most of you would remember, the puzzling timeline of zelda either having 2 senarios after OOT with Wind Waker occuring in 1 and Twlight Princess Occuring in the other. Basiclly 1 flooded hyrule timeline and the other being Hyrule still exists and never got flooded. Now at the end of Wind Waker, the King of Hyrule told Link and Zelda/Tetra that the gods gave hope to the people that they could find a new hyrule.
Now here is the question, in Spirt Tracks, could this be the new Hyrule found years later or just another one in the timeline of Hyrule never getting flooded? Aside from that it could always be part of the “Just a legend” theroy where it is basiclly the same tale of Link, saves land or world against some evil diety or Ganon, Vaati, or something else everytime.
Whatever the setting the game should be good incorparating new gameplay elements.
ah ok, cause the last time i looked at one was the gametrailers retrospective, which was right right before TP was released and they speculated or something that it was in the same timeline was WW. whats the updated timeline?
It is strange how some see the two seperate timelines.
They say the ending of OOT is what made either WW or TP happen.
One ending is, As link goes back in time to prevent it all from happening, he succeeds in warning Zelda and the king of Hyrule for what Ganondorf would do. Later on other sages, not the ones that need to be awakend in the adult dungeons in OOT, try to execute Ganondorf years later but fail and send him to the Twlight relam, causing him to be trapped there for many years eventually returning having used Zant from the twlight realm as a puppet and taking control of hyrule.
It is possible that a link to the past happens after twlight princess, it could be that after defeat in twlight princess ganon survived back in the dark world and later in a link to the past used aganim to not break the seal on the dark world but rather break it to obtain the triforce as you get it after beating him in this game.
The other ending in OOT was link does not show up after everything takes place and Ganon invades hyrule as said in the beginning in WW, ganon takes over but the gods flood hyrule sealing ganon and the triforce away, however ganon still has the triforce of power. WW takes place and then we get to Phantom Hourglass.
I am betting that this next one is the hyrule is never flooded timeline and it just uses the ww art style.
lol im still a bit confused. probably cause even though i know a bit about each game, ive just played TP and a bit of 4 swords.
and this was the timeline i last saw: http://www.gametrailers.com/player/15194.html

I have no idea where it is going to fall in the timeline. Will have to wait til E3 when hopefully they declassify more about it.
All I can say is, like the orgins of the Justin Bailey Metroid code the Zelda timeline has to be one of the most puzzling aspects in videogame history.
The main site of the series which has the been somewhat reliable to this puzzle is clear in some ways stating just that Link is all 1 in the same person. However there are many loops and contradicting paths in the timelines. Many say OOT or Minish Cap first, others say Minish Cap is generations after WW/Phantom Hourglass Link and Tetra placed in a new hyrule as they are close friends in the four sword games. The same link is in the GBA four swords and in the GCN game.
Others say the split timeline theroy but one thing that really misses the mark for WW not even being able to occur is the fact of link going back to warn everyone of ganondorf, that could just cause 1 big paradox with the adult timeline not even plausable because the future ending with Zelda rebuilding hyrule would never take place.
Here is one more confusing peice of the puzzle from the zelda main site:
Pendants of Virtue
The Pendant of Courage, the Pendant of Power and the Pendant of Wisdom are collectively known as the Pendants of Virtue. When Link returned from his adventure in Termina, hundreds of years had passed in Hyrule and the Master Sword was hidden within the Lost Woods. To re-prove himself and demonstrate that he was worthy of the Master Sword, Link had to collect all three Pendants of Virtue.
Well all I know is that without Minish Cap we may have never known anything about its origins. But we do know that OOT provided a definite split in the series. One that Nintendo has confirmed. But almost everything else is subjective although I think the one gametrailers compiled is a pretty good prediction.
But yes it is one of the most complex and even more so one of the most confusing. So many questions unanswered. Minish Cap answered a lot but still TP just asked more haha. All I know is there is a big gap between Twilight Princess and Wind Waker. Whatever happened between then is what I want the next Zelda game to be about. It might be Spirit Tracks. Will just have to see.
But got to love the Zelda series. Just so amazing.

first, plz dont spam on a zelda related forum, second, mgs aint that great if u play zelda ever
and third, i belive in the split storyline,
also i think that every major game has 1 minor follow up.
Ex: WW and Ph
Ex2: MM and Mc(answering questions and ect)
Ex3: OOT and Mc (has important info)
Ex4: Tp and St maybe
Note:Mc/minish cap is very important so it is considered 2 sequels to me.
