On the thread question, as long as there isn’t a four man team and a Soul Society tournament, it isn’t a Yu Yu Hakusho rip-off. Plus I don’t really see a good similarity between Yu Yu Hakusho and Bleach beside the Soul Society and the Place of the Departed Souls.

And YYH is better to boot(even though Bleach is almost just as good).
The only characters I see that have something in common from both Bleach and YYH are Grimmjow and Yusuke. They both love fighting sand does not take shit from anybody. And they both have transformations.
They are alot more similarities between Yu Yu Hakusho and Bleach than you guys think.
Here are some examples.
Yusuke vs Sensui (First fight) and Ichigo vs Ulquiorra (First fight) both Yusuke and Ichigo were clearly outmatched and overpowered and both were killed by an opponent who did not even have to try that much to kill there victim.
Yusuke vs Sensui (Second fight) and Ichigo vs Ulquiorra (Second fight) both Yusuke and Ichigo were once again out matched and overpowered (But in Ichigo’s case it was more of a hopeless situation), Raizen took over Yusuke’s body to prevent him from getting killed, Ogichi took over Ichigo’s body to prevent him from getting killed, Both Raizen (Using Yusuke’s body) and Ogichi (Using Ichigo’s body) killed there victims very easily, also both Yusuke and Ichigo did not know how to use there powers to the fullest and had to have somebody possess them in order to do so, And possessed Yusuke grew long hair and Possessed Ichigo also grew long hair.
See they are many more similarities between Yu Yu Hakusho and Bleach than you guys think.

Although a nice try in comparison it’s not that straight forward. While these battles that you have brought to the table while similar but also different enough to be categorized differently. Raizen is a demon and a separate entity from Yusuke completely. He takes control by coming from the outside in. His reasons also differ. He saves Yusuke because of a family bond he being Yusuke’s ancestor or father.
On the other side of the table we have Ichigo’s inner hollow dubbed Ogichi by fans is actually apart of Ichigo’s soul, presumably, created when he underwent the Shinigamifaction process that Urahara put him though.
His inner Hollow only manifest itself on Ichigo, he still has his own will to fight, unlike a person whom is possessed, the control and even break it. Then when you come to the reason behind the inner Hollow’s actions it is greed and self preservation.
When you look at the two scenarios on the surface they might look similar but at closer inspection you see the differences.
Also the Inner Hollow on Ichigo’s part is also part of his power and he can call on it in the form of his Vizard Mask.

I am sure Kubo would of not directly copied Togashi or else he would of gotten in big trouble although both are similar they are not exactly the same though.
Hate to say this but, no one here seems to realize that YYH and DBZ are made by the same company. YYH was originally an anime specifically made to undo some of the mess DBZ made in its later episodes. YYH intended to be more conservative than DBZ was by atleast making some sense out of fighting and by limiting the length of it to some degree.
I have to admit, by the end of the series, it may have looked like DBZ, but the truth was, it was over by then. Not just getting started.
For one I am certainly glad to see they made YYH, in fact for many reasons at that. Overall, YYH will always be one of my favorites for its fun cast of characters and interesting plot line.
Oh and by the way, The original plot behind the 3 mod souls in season 3 of Bleach is a complete disappointment since everything about it is exactly just like the plot behind when Yusuke gets kidnapped. I thought it was bad enough having three people just like in YYH with strange talents to be lead by someone the main characters didn’t know who was behind it all, but to go as far as having one of the bad guys pretend to hide as a good guy so they have to figure out who it is just makes me want to strangle the writer of Bleach
I really did enjoy the story and plot behind the rescue operation of Rukia, but after that, it got really bad. Only thing I want to see at this point is what happened to the three captains that disappeared on Rukia’s execution date, but it seems I will have to just skip through a bunch of episodes to get past all the obvious fillers that don’t seem to inspire me as much as the original content did.
