rap is so juvenile now. most of what rappers talk about in their songs is at the level of a 12-year-old semi-retarded person. It had good potential back in the day, but now it’s in a cesspool of mediocrity and irresponsibility. (glorifying the pimp life, thug life, ho life... songs that sound the same) And the “beef” stuff is so lame and childish, not the least because knuckleheads who listen to it say things like to me mayn i hate tupac or biggie hired someone to take out tupac. For ex., while I think eminem is very talented, that beef stuff with cannibus was school boyish. Why couldn’t he be mature and elevate it to a business level and, say, release a rap album or song together with cannibus which probably would have sold millions and done a great service to the idea of “increase the peace” in hip hop (Like some of the old school Jamaican rappers used to do: i.e. Yellowman v. Purpleman). Hell, I might have even bought it.
