In the FF VII we got American exclusive monsters, til like early 2000s (Ruby Weapon and teh Diamond Weapon).

In DoC they revamped the whole game and added in extra content.

I don’t believe that Vader or Yoda was in the Jap versions of SC IV ETC

I couldn’t tell you that.They usually fix the games up for the Western seaboard before they ship 'em and added in extra lil goodies

Well I guess that centers on how you look at it. The American branches adds the stuff, but they are just US branches of the Jap company
