Rarely. Usually a computer is used to make beats, I do not exactly consider that an instrument. Every once in a while a guitar is introduced, but other than that, there are pretty much no instruments.

It’s more like, people that don’t listen to rap know Tupac for his death, while people that don’t listen to rock don’t know Axl at all.

Even people who don’t listen to rock generally know who Axl Rose is. And I heavily doubt that anybody over the age of 13 doesn’t know Guns N Roses. Fuck, even you know the band. Unless of course you’re one of those freaks that listen to nothing but rap music. And in that case, I feel sorry for you.

That’s not true at all, I can ask anybody I know that doesn’t listen to rock who Axl Rose is and I doubt they’ll know who I’m talking about, where as I’ve only met one person who didn’t know who Tupac was.

People know who Axl Rose is because nearly everybody has heard Welcome to the Jungle or Paradise City. I on the other hand, have never heard a Tupac song.

The problem is here, even though I enjoy rap, I do not find it as music, but as a form of poetry mainly. So to me, yes, they are completely different things. Rock is music, Rap is poetry.

I frankly do not see how it is music, the only aspect really involved that is musical is the rhythm and rhyme, but music is more than that. Rhythm and rhyme alone is a poetic aspect. That is why I view it as poetry mainly.

That was my opinion on the subject. Everyone’s post says whether or not Axl or 2pac is better, and its all opinion, but they are stating as you say “as if it were fact."

No, the Guns part of the name came from the co-founder Tracii Guns, whom before the band went on tour quit to reform L.A. Guns. He was indeed replaced by Slash though. However, the name came from Tracii Guns.
