necrophagist is the most complex tech death band easy, romains drumming is insane and muhammed sweeps a 7 string for god sake not to mention singing at the same time

easy win for necrophagist

Sweep picking is neither technical, nor challenging, and Romain can’t hold a candle to Minnemann.

You, sir, are mistaken.

well considering i dont play guitar i really wouldnt know how hard it is but it seems hard especially on a 7 string

and in my all my years of listening to music i havnt heard anything more complex then them, drums wise maybe but not guitar or vocals

I dunno man. I’d put The Faceless and Necrophagist on a par.

Meshuggah, rhythm wise, for sure.

It can get difficult. Necrophagist’s style, however, is not difficult.

I’d say The Faceless has some songs with pretty technical drumming. Makes me wonder what their newest album sounds like.

There’s a new drummer for that album so I’ve read, is he as technical of a drummer as the ones that drummed for the first album?

I haven’t actually listened to the album as of yet.

Everyone I’ve spoken to says it’s great though, no idea what the drumming is like other than a track I heard of the MySpace a while back.

Athiest is definately a very technical band, I wouldn’t consider them a technical death metal band but they are very fucking awesome none the less. The Faceless is a pretty bad ass band. I have their first album, which is pretty killer. Sick drumming techniques. I’ve been listening to them for so long, probably since 2006 or 2007.

I second this. Atheist is definately a very technical and complex band, but they don’t have the technical death metal sound to them.

As for the Faceless, I don’t see what is so special about them. I liked them for the first 15 minutes then I just got bored. Their music is complex, but there is nothing too artistic to me. I also don’t see how they are the most complex. They are complex, but nowhere near the MOST. That has to go to Atheist or Spawn of Possession.

The Faceless aren’t that good. Technically Meshuggah is Avant Garde Death Metal, not Tech Death. Personally, my favorite Technical Death Metal band is Quo Vadis, they are fuckin awesome!

I like The Faceless, I just can’t listen to them for a long period of time, the metalcore style vocals of some songs get on my nerves after a while. Same goes for Meshuggah, I love the band, and the music, but some of the songs just get repetative after a while. It varies with each album of course.

Spawn of Possession is awesome by the way.

I like Necrophagist I just like The Faceless more.
I have no idea why.
Maybe because I’ve known them longer.

Also, Why the hell do I keep up with this thing?
