Vint, Nas has better lyric’s then Lupe. Lupe has a more feel free attitude to rip beats but Nas is currently the best lyricalist.

However I disagree..I think Nas on Illmatic,It Was Written,and even Stillmatic was him at his best and he really hasn’t been the same since..He’s taken a different route,not a bad one,but one that is far inferior to classic Nasty Nas...

Nas’s lyrics are dope and poetic but Lupe’s are dope,poetic,legendary, and I feel that his range of topics much wider than Nas’s..They’re still my two favorite rappers of all time(then Eminem,then Biggie)

see...thats what i dont like though. its not only you...EVERYONE has to compare nas right now back to when he was nasty nas and that’s not fair. the times have changed and nas was rapping according to the times. i think lyrically he still has it. listen to his verse on jeezy’s “my president is black”...that’s the nas who’s been killin it since day one. i dont think its fair to constantly compare him to when he put out illmatic.


look at jay-z. he used to have a TOTALLY different style when he put out in my lifetime and reasonable doubt. his style has changed over time.

i honestly think hip hop is dead was a great album. untitled kinda sold out (as in he sold out to the mainstream) but he was still spittin the truth. i think people are going to constantly bash nas just because now he uses more mainstream beats (not the jazz style of the early 90s).

don’t get me wrong. lupe is the man. i think he is the best current new generation rapper right now but lyrically...i don’t think he’s up there with nas. i think lupe comes in as a close second if you want to talk about lyrical skill currently. but if nas was at his prime, lupe’s current style would be overshadowed.


i like eminem too. he spits the truth too..the thing is...sometimes its hard to take him seriously as a rapper if he has to associate himself with the likes of d12 or put out songs that are just plain funny. but that’s my opinion. em is still in my top 10 regardless but i hope relapse shows more of his serious side like when he put out “toy soldiers” and “lose yourself” several years ago.

Eminem is the best hip hop artist at the moment but Nas is better than hip hop itself.

I don’t see what makes Nas THAT much better than Eminem...They’re both great, and they’re both really different, I don’t see how you compare them.

I compare Nas and Eminem by lyrics and storytelling both mixed.In wich Nas is much much better than Em.Nas can use thos two together almost perfectly.But Em is struggling when trying to mix complex lyrics with a complex story.
