Avyahe, you are completely right about all of these haters, Juggalos and non-Juggalos alike. They should not be hating, but sometimes you can’t help those who are lost on the Internet.

Anyway, the best way to get all of your answers is to read Violent J’s book Behind the Paint. But to sum up as quickly as I can about the facepaint, odd names, and Dark Carnival is that they are preaching the word of God. But the people who need the word of God are not going to listen to music who is openly doing it. (Technically ICP is not Christian, just talks about God, no particular God, but personally I think they are Christian, so that is why I use the following analogy The person who needs the Bible most is not the person who will pick it up and read it. ICP used the facepaint, names, and Carnival to draw in the scrubs and slowly reach them with the messages before hitting them upside the head with the religious stuff. That is why it took them 10 years and 6 Joker’s Cards to finally reveal the Carnival is God.
