Meatal isnt bad i think Linkin Park would fall into 1 category of meatal.Also I listened to Pantera and they are pretty good.
i just perfer Punk rock over meatal.But meatal is still good.
totally agree with tc. i hate stuff like death metal and metalcore cuz i HATE it when all bands do is scream (i mean, a few well placed screams can really strengthen a song, but when it gets to the point when its a few well placed non-screamed words, its just stupid), but i love all other metal. well, some bands can scream really really well. like, system of a down, i like them even though they scream a lot. thats cuz their scream is just so weird.

if anyone says that vocals like that are easy I dare them to record themselves doing them.
I practice death metal grunts every day for my band since last year, and I have only gotten a little better. I cannot get anywhere near as close to being as good as that. That kinda proves death metal vocals take talent.

i have always thought of the growl as a type of screaming. i can hear the difference, and i don’t like either of them to overwhelm a song.

death metal is an aquired taste of music. It is you either like it, or you dont. There is usually no in between.
in the begining you cant tell the difference. kind of like magners and strongbow, but then after a while all becomes clear, and you realise that strongbow is, infact, better than magners.... I mean death metal roar is better than screaming... or was I actually talking about cydar there?
