The “music legends”, as I like to call them. The “King of Pop” (M-J) vs the King of Rock & Roll
(E-P)

So who was the better man, guys?

Depends on what style you like best.

I prefer Elvis Presley. Elvis was the whole package. He had the talent, the looks, the charisma, the moves, the voice, could act well when given a chance and was extremely humble with it.

Elvis also sang in virtually every musical genre available to him and matured throughout his career.

Elvis, of course, was more than just an entertainer but in fact was quite an historical figure. He was the one who broke down social and cultural barriers in 1950’s U.S.A. making it easier for all artists who followed in his footsteps. He paved the way for the Civil Rights Movement and Dr. Martin Luther King in the 1960’s. I also respect him for serving his time in the U.S.Army at the height of his fame.

Elvis' record sales throughout the world are unequalled by any other artist or group he having sold over 1 Billion.

There will never be another Elvis and his contributions to, and influence on, the music world are unprecedented.

He was truly 'sui generis'.

They are both music icons, I’d say it’s a draw

Hmm, well michael got more leverage on him, since MJ sang different genres. So I pick MJ.

And I’d honestly take Michael Jackson. He did more original material. He has the best selling album of all time. He is known around the world. He danced like I’ve never seen anyone dance, and plus he’s a smooth criminal.

Interesting question - both in their own rites! Both of them opened the doors in different ways. Elvis crossed racial barriers and Michael crossed them as well. Elvis had moves that no one at that time had seen, Michael had moves that no one has seen before. Although I would say that Michael die have many more new moves than Elvis. Both crossed musical borders, but I think that Elvis bringing country, soul, jazz and gospel together opened more doors than Michael.

So, much more to say, but in the end they are both Kings in their own rite!

Elvis was perhaps more revolutionary with his style when you consider the era he was in , but i would say Micheal was the more talented artist , at least as far as stage performances go.

Elvis is the King of USA, Michael jackson is the King of world, other country not like Elvis. Evis didn’t write songs by himself i don’t like this.

Since everybody are having a difficult debate here, I guess I should of rather said:

Who is/was more famous between the two?

Elvis was not revolutionary, he was just in the right place at the right time.
