first you gotta think of a punchline you want to rhyme with. a punchline is the last word or words used in a bar. a bar is two sentences combined into a rhyme. say you want to rap about a girl and you want to use the words “fine ass” as your punchline word. here’s a bar with me using that as the punchline.

thats a basic bar. you will learn rhythm over time and learn to use more words that rhyme in each bar to make it sound smoother and better. basically you feed off whatever you want to use as your punchlines. rapping it is a different story. learn to write first.

ok first the rhyme, just go through every letter of the alphabet and find something that rhymes with the word u start off. second, the rhythm, if the line has too much words, speed up ur voice, if it has too less, slow it down. and the voice, ur just born with it.

and i’m not black

one of the most talented lyrically rapper ever is white. white kids just shy away from it because the majority is black, that doesent mean they can’t rap. i know plenty of white kids including myself who can rap. living in a city and being around it alot more helps too.

paul wall — platinum artist
bubba sparxxx — platinum artist
alchemist — more of a producer, but does rap
t-bo — not platinum. southern rapper
haystak — ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
kane — raps on puffy’s bad boy label. hasnt put out anyhting recently

other ones
everlast/house of pain
vanilla ice

there is a couple more, so it’s not like there has never been white rappers.

write. write a rap about anything. write everyday and guarantee ull be good in a few months, it also helps to have a dictionary and thesarus nxt to u and slang words uve picked up from pple, u dont really need to do this step but it helps a lot(a whole lot). then just keep reading them out loud to urself putting ur own beat. and when u got nothing to read just make it up, who cares if it sux ur just learning, if u keep doing this u could be a good free style rapper. just do that everyday or almost everyday and ull get better. listening to rap music helps too(ofcourse). just keep doing those things.


the hardest part is developing ur own style, but u dont have to do that unless ur hardcore.

oh, and one more thing about what Nosk said. yeah, white rappers do stand out(though i dont know who paul wall is), but i dont think race really has anything to do with it. but it also reminds me of the NBA. b4 mostly white pple were on the NBA, but look at it today, the greatest basketball players are black. so things are kinda reversing. i guess its just pressure to prove stereotypes wrong. back then most white pple thought black pple suck. now most black pple think theyre better than whites.
