We aren’t taking away your freedom just enforcing the rules that need to be forced. Any problem that stalls the growth of this site needs to be fixed.
It’s Moviecodec. Realize which forum that you’re dealing with here.
Look at the posting rules and discussion..maybe you should realise what forum you’re posting on instead.
You use MVC as spome kind of argument, yet the MVC you speak of has rules which are to be inforced..Perhaps its the members percsption of MVC that needs to change cause where I’m looking from..MVC is a forum with rules..thats why Bjarne has them posted.
You can’t follow the rules..then expect reprimand. same for all members. ---

I was here long before you Nihilus I’m WELL aware of what site I’m dealing with. And I’m very well aware of how much it has changed and how worse it has gotten.

Yeah sure, the rules are there for extreme measures. But there’s a gray area where things were just fine, mods were lax and nobody had problems. If you think you’re going to come in here like a power hungry, strict moderator with a “no tolerance” rule and completely change things... then you will eventually be rejected by the users of MvC getting sick and tired of your shit. This has happened because that grey area has migrated to the entire site. Everybody thinks that the entire rules are a grey area..that they can do, say and act as they please no matter what the rules.
This is not the case. Everybody has come to treat MVC as their own perosnal playground with no cincideration for any of the other kids sharing the equipment..

With way too many members, banning is just warning. All they have to do is make a new account or get a new IP, and they do so very often. Because of that, I believe, moderators have seen banning as almost as useless as warning, with simply more flashback from the banning. Thus, the safer and easier route has become to just warn, because bans do little. | | #69 17 Apr 2009 11:24 pm |

Just like warning, which basically does nothing, so we might as well let members get away with whatever they have done as they please since neither warning nor banning will solve the problem. ---

This hasn’t happened over one incident..its been stated many times now that this has been build for a while and now its come to the point where enough is enough.

Or what? I’ve done nothing wrong, other than post a racial slur, or you could be referring to the troll posting ghey porn. So yes, it could have been over one incident which had made this turn into a head and this thread needing to be made. ---

which is why there is a crack down..because bans do nothing becuse members don’t give a shit about he rules anymore..because the members don’t respect a ban nore care for the rules.
this is why mvc has fallen into sucha state and why stricter enforcement is in order.
