Girls being friends with guys, and vice versa

So I always hear the two major sides to this debate..

heaps of guys say that you can’t really be friends with girls, because they’ll end up falling for them and then feel stuck because they’re only labelled a “friend” with the girl.

But I say the same goes for the girl in the reverse situation..

And in other cases, a friendship just works without any of that drama.

Some people are open to it , and others are completely closed off..

What say you?

I have tons of friends that are girls, that I would NEVER date. so i say it is possible.

yeah i have fallen for “best friends” in the past, but now I guess i’m passed that point in my life

Good friends are hard to come by, and I think it’s really dumb to let something like gender keep me from being friends with them.

yeah but to be good friends with someone you have to like the person for the person that they are, and since they are the opposite gender that makes them a potential mate. So blah blah blah blah

I have heaps of 'girlfriends'. I see nothing wrong with it. Sure I’ve been told that if I wasn’t with Butterfly that they’d take a run at me, but they know I’m a loyal old dog. faithful to the end, so thats it really. We flirt sometimes, shit stir each other, I’ve had threats of rape and all that too, but its all good natured. Hell, I’ve seen half of my GF in their underwear or bed clothes and they know I’m not gonna try anything and vise versa. Afterall, its just flesh. No different to your own body apart from a few obvious biological differences..ie breasts being larger..etc but theres nothing in it.

I don’t see why people of opposing sex’s can’t be great mates. So long as each of you know your boundries and don’t start seeing more into freindship than what there is..then its all cool.

I guess that goes double for me being bi and all..but yeah..you get the drift.

I think anyone who feels that you can’t be “just friends” with the opposite sex has some major issues.

There are qualities that make a friend...and then there’s some extra special stuff that turns them into a lover.

My partners always started as friends...but they had that extra stuff. My other male friends...stay as friends.
