I frequent the afterdawn forums, which deal with simmilar sorts of issues and i even won a ps2 dance mat in a logo competition from them. I will do a bit of cross promotion.

I hope you take this the right way sir, but please don’t wind us up on the lonely topic i spend much time there, and so do MANY of my friends. Unlike many other topics, it’s a more 'personal' one, for (i hope) people who are having real-life problems on. I know the contents may from time to time seem odd to visitors, but it is a meeting place for friends who would rather just share thoughts and a little fun where possible, without the need to search through 100’s of odd topics to find others with the same 'problem'. The fact it’s so popular shows (1) how many lonely people the world has all over it, and (2) its popularity is by 'natural selection' only, and any change to how it works will irretrievably damage its ability to help.

I understand what you mean about the site having less messages than 'normal' though, but i think there are now so many wide-spread topics that the huge number of writers just get lost in it all. To be honest, i think its time that at least 1/3rd of the topics where cleaned off the server (no names/topics mentioned, but really, some topics just dont need to ever excist anywhere do they? they ain’t funny or informative or productive at all).

Hey, wouldn’t i make a nitemare as a MOD? he he. Well, it’s just the way it appears to me (and i DO make lots of mistakes), so do put me straight if i’m wrong.

Firewolf - excellent work advertising on AFTERDAWN. A very good idea.

I’d like to leave more messages here, but time just doesn’t allow me to until WiFi access becomes as widespread as mobile/cell fone signals. Then i could just keep stopping and typing - yeh

And I’m always up for a good debate.

But.....the debates I contribute to are not always popular. (as per the average interests on this site)
I’m more of your in moderation, social justice, environmental awareness kinda gurl.(which do have their moments here...but it seems to really depend on whos around)

In short, I don’t think any of my suggestions would be any good here:P

Advertising is the key to making any forum more lively, we don’t want a lot of hate running around though. We’ve been through that before, and to be honest, it was the most pathetic thing I’ve seen on the internet.
