Goku vs Supes is but a small part of what attracts people to MovieCodec. Back in the old days, we had two sources to bring in new people.

The Lonely Thread, which was actually featured in a news article.

And

The Console Wars, which is what brought me here.

So basically you Golden Age Members are the “Old Breed” and we newer members are the “New Breed”.

By Old i mean that you guys have been here for more than a year now during the Golden Age.

Talk to a ton of the older members. A lot of them were brought here either by Console Wars or through the lonely thread.

VS topics played a very small role back then. In fact, these VS topics didn’t get big until after the forum was split into two forums.

To lazy to look for more threads unless you gave me a subject to look for.

I was actually brought in here before the forum was sectioned off into The Lounge. Even before we had all these different subsections. As far as lounge was concerned, it was really just games, music, random stuff, and maybe something else. I was just a mere guest then, still going by RageOverdose. My friend who brought me here (he went by FLCLjazz, but he hasn’t been back since before I actually registered) eventually convinced me to register.

All a registered member had was the ability to post freely without having to reenter names or anything. We didn’t have avatars or signatures or anything. Hell, no reputation or even post count, although it all was gradually added. The overall design of the forum was rather bland too, just white with lines and such. The purpleish-blue theme wasn’t added for awhile later, although I want to say the sidebar was a similar color to the overall border layout now.

Honestly, I remember there being a lot more respect. People just discussed, although the rap regulars were rather aggressive. We did have a fair share of guest assaults, but I don’t think people were taking it all to seriously. I know I wasn’t. Guests were also common as hell. Every other post was a guest, and they were regulars you knew. Now they’re either newbies or trolls, at least as far as we registered members are concerned.

I don’t want to single him out, and I’m not saying he caused it and I may be wrong, but I think the drama came when Tyreaus first joined. He was rather dramatic when he was first a member. He’s changed a lot since then.

Probably the most epic thing that happened was the Most Responded thread, where the goal was to respond and respond until a record was set. However, it was hard to do, since no one really talked in it. Since people could just make any random thread and chat, it had no purpose and keeping it going with random crap is hard. Still, I had fond memories in there. However, I probably wouldn’t go back to it, unless we made a new one.

The console wars were pretty big, but I kept out of those mostly. I remember Xtrm was a hefty opponent in them, alongside others I haven’t seen for awhile or don’t remember.

My memory is a bit off though. My pattern was as such; I would come in and post a lot for, maybe a month or so, then never come on for about the same amount of time. I had an erratic pattern of posting, hence why my post count is so low after all this time. Now I’m rather consistent.

I remember beers on the wall...Man...Hell, the dude I did that with for awhile was actually someone I helped out.

I did help a few emotional souls get it back together too, when I was on.

I posted as a guest here and there in early 2006. Left, got banned from gamefaqs, and then crawled back here and made an account in late 2006. I was a newb, SA-X despised me, I got hacked, I was in the console war. in 2007 Xtrm then made the Gaming Clan and I joined it as a low rank but later became one of the leaders, sadly the Clan eventually fell apart. Some time around all this, I was dubbed the' Nervin and the name stuck. 2008 became rather boring for Mvc, and the site slowly rolled downhill. Late 2008 I banned myself yet mysteriously haunt the halls of MvC as a guest.

That’s pretty much my story... of course there is a lot more I could have added. But those were the big things.

Now let me really begin. In the past i heard of a really powerful Anime/Manga Universe called Saint Seiya i first heard of it in the Saint Seiya Universe vs Dragon Ball Z Universe or something similiar to that in the Naruto Forums i got interested in Saint Seiya so i pulled up information of there powers and abilities then many many months passed by and i saw the Pegasus Seiya Vs. Silver Surfer Thread at this site so i became interested in debating against people and my first target was Itachi Uchiha so early in June of 2008 i signed up for this site and the rest is history.
