Now now, Ty, just because you are depressed, too, doesn’t mean you have the right to attack him.
Be nice.
If I was attacking him I would have said “suck it up you pansy."
Notice the difference?
You attacked in in a downplayed way. Telling someone to suck it up is never a good idea.
When people are depressed they need comfort and/or someone to make them laugh or smile. Telling them to 'suck it up' usually plunges them into it deeper.
...so let’s all forget the irony of me even attacking him in the first place, considering my past, and the attempt at a bit of dark humour...
I figure, then, that he deserves to get “attacked” a little. Maybe then, instead of getting pampered with comforting essays, he can look at it and laugh like he usually does with people that attack him. If not that, he could maybe develop the skill to cheer himself up, which isn’t that hard if you know how to control your thoughts and not let them control you.

That is, unless you would like a longer, more in-depth psychological explanation involving pancakes and Bridget...

Yeah, but we do not why Marly is sad(well at least I do not know). A joke can be good or bad depending in the situation. If you do not know the situation a joke can have the opposite effect.
Maybe Marley is cold some times but it does mean he/she is always like that. And even if we are good at controling our thoughts, some times a situation can be so difficul that you actually need help or support to continue.
What Marley needs now is feel a warm support. If someone is so sad to even post a topic, it means that person really wants some help
And it would be very nice to help.

What can I say? I’m a bit of a risktaker sometimes. Besides, it’s either that, or I just say the same thing that has been said over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over...

It’s like when you JUST have a break up and someone says “Move on” or “There’s plenty of fish in the sea” It’s easy for THEM to say that, assholes. I know they’re trying to help but seriously those kind of people make everything worse.
Lower than expected SAT score. Not significantly worse than the last time, but I expected it to be higher after all the money my parents spent on practicing for the test.
Guess I’ll have to register for another one. Ngh...

Just do the ACT instead... Unless you mean the SAT 2, which yeah, is quite hard.
Marly pal do not feel bad about that . I belived it was about something worse :P
Do not worry about that
When I did my test to enter to the university, despite all my time and effort I put I did not got the enought points to enter.
You needed like the 95% of points to enter and I got the 85% lol. In the same month I tried for another university and same story.
My fathers also spent money in curses to help me but as I said it was not enought.
I lost a year and I was very sad like you, but later I realized that it helped me to know what I really wanted to study and where.
It was not too bad at all I had time to study other languages, study drawing, cooking, I had very nice holidays, I had time enought to think well what I really wanted.
Then I did another test and now I am very happy in my actual university.
