You don’t have to reply to EVERY post, and more than likely in some cases end up making yourself look like a dumbass when someone is trying to pick at you, falling into their trap.And if you don’t, learn not to sit there and take shit like a lil' noob who doesn’t know how to tie his own shoes.

Also, if you’re kinda bad at spelling, be careful as to who you conversate with, it could cost you dearly.

If you are a fanboy of a certain musical group, musician, television show, anime, manga, cartoon, or whatever, learn to keep that shit to yourself, or keep your wank meter to a minimun. No one wants to read your endless posts of why Goku is better than Superman, or why Lil' Wayne or Lupe Fiasco is the greatest rapper of all time.

Don’t type in all caps, unless you’re doing it for the lulz, otherwise, it can be assumed that you are getting riled up over something that you don’t need to get mad about, especially since you’re on the internet reading what I’ve typed in this thread.

Don’t try to be tough. Lest you can actually pick yourself up from when someone breaks you like a twig, or is/are not phased by someone trying to smash on you over the internets. I suggest you start out slow, then work your way up like I did.

Do NOT feed the troll. Heed this warning. You will more than likely pay for it in the end, unless you know how to actually counter trolls in order to stop them in their tracks.

Learn to read the rules. It shames me to say that not everyone does this. It will help you out in the end. Trust me on this.

About the repping system. Don’t take it seriously, as it does not impact yourself IRL, and never will. Sure, you might feel a slight sense of anger or feel upset from getting a negative rep from someone, but don’t go overboard and type something offensive like “GTFO YOU STUPID NIGGER” or “SUCK MY NUTS YOU DIRTY CHINK BASTARD” And then you will be banned, and more than likely there will be a thread made about how you were permabanned in the next 20 seconds of your banning.

If you are new to this forum, then you can make a thread introducing yourself, even though it’s rarely seen here, there’s no problem in that. It’s good to have new blood here. At least, I think so.

And if you would like to know anymore about the forum itself, ask any of the moderators that watch over the forum and its sections, including myself, and some of the regular members of Moviecodec, or just PM them through private messaging. Someone should reply accordingly. If not, they just don’t give a fuck, or is more than likely a troll. Then again, a troll might reply just to fuck your shit up, so be wary.

Kudos to Tyrane for this bit. He posted what I didn’t think of at the time, haha.

Report Function: Not just there for shits and giggles.

Always look back at your post and (relatively quickly) see if you can find anything to make fun with/of it. Unless this is what you want to accomplish, it’s a good thing to do to cover your ass and not look like a fool. (usually it’s easy to tell when someone is trying to sound funny, and when they fuck up)

Read, understand and follow the damn rules, TOS, and any other important-looking document scattered around here. Hell, add on your own guidelines to yourself if you want, but if you don’t read the rules, you’re susceptible to be pelted at with mouldy cheese.

If your posts seem to start typing back to you, chances are it’s a mod. READ THE DAMN SHIT.

Moviecodec is a clusterfuck. We know. Shit goes everywhere, so keep an umbrella, flameshield, and whatnot else handy. Plus, don’t worry if you don’t know where a thread goes; you won’t be the only one to fuck this one up. (believe me, even moderators do this once in a while)

Moderators/Admins are not God(s). We cannot see everything. Don’t expect us to. Ever. (plenty of times this has happened over time, not just with newbies either)

Moviecodec seems to be a site that requires conformation. If you don’t conform to this “lifestyle” easily, chances are this isn’t the best place for you. If you do end up “stuck” here, there’s bound to be groups of people like you you can find. Stick with them, more privately and undercover, and you should pretty much be in the clear from insults of other members that aren’t in the same group you are.

EDIT: Mods and admins won’t kill you or ban you on the spot. No reason to be scared just because we have a sledgehammer; we aren’t going to use it on you.

Usually, you be friendly to someone, they’ll be friendly back. Golden rule. Applies here too.

It’s expected, and although many people here forget that, as long as you keep your cool, they won’t be a problem, and you’ll quickly be able to work through who’s good and who’s not.

There’s also plenty of times I’ve noticed people come here, make a topic, get flamed a bit and randomly disappear. It’s odd how it works.

Though, at the same time, this whole thing has got me thinking about a guide for the older, veteran members of moviecodec. >.> Some of whom just seem completely incapable of actually getting their shit together properly. (and probably doing things wrong from THIS guide)

And all throughout this, I’m thinking to myself “Should be working on the damn story, hackass. >.>"

Sounds like a good idea, since some of the older members can be elitist, like Xtrm for example, no offense to him (not like it matters), and I should be in bed right now, but currently, I’m bored, watching South Park, and thinking about buttered toast.

And yes, I’ve seen it too. They just make a thread and disappear from the face of the earth, back into the darkness. I’ve seen it all too often.

Eh, not even necessarily Xtrm. I’ve never understood why vets always jump down the throats of new people if they don’t do every single thing in accordance to their rules that have never been outlined. Gotta give the kids time to learn the ropes first. Yeah, they’re gonna make an ass out of themselves once in a while, but they’re probably nervous as fuck (like I said before). Hell, look at me, pretty prime example. Look where I am now.

That’s funny, because on another forum that I frequent, preferably Naruto Forums, they have such an encyclopedia, or Wiki, which gives a summary of the members who resident in their Versus Forums, lol.
