It has now been one year since Steve Irwin was shockingly and tragically killed by a Bull Ray. He was filming a new documentary in the Great Barrier Reef in Queensland called Ocean’s Deadliest. While he was snorkeling he got too close to a Bull Ray and out of self-defense, the Bull Ray had pierced his heart. After he pulled it out, he died almost immediately of cardiac arrest.

He left behind his Wife, Terri, and his two kids, Bindi and Robert Irwin. Our hearts go out to them. He has achieved so much and done a lot for the environment and has become an icon. He was so full of life and had a heart of gold. His death reminded us of how fragile life can be. Nevertheless, he will be remembered for his enthusiasm.

I found two videos that I really liked to pay tribute to him. The first video shows pictures of his achievements and family. What makes this video so personal is that it is backed by the song “True Blue”, Steve Irwin’s favorite song. The second video shows more video footage in a more remembered kind of way, with dialogue from Steve Irwin himself and a good song to go along with it.

In memory of Steve Irwin, 1962-2006.

Steve has earned a place in my list of legends. Along with Freddie Mercury (and if you know me in person, you know how big a deal that is)

Its for a few days. Its a tribute thread on the Anniversary of his death for a great man who did a great deal for the enviroment and the protection of its animal species.

The man was a top bloke and would give you the shirt of his back if you needed it. A true legend.

Now if you were to die, I’m sure we would sticky a tribute topic about you too.

Steve Iriwn kicked ass! He knew so much about animals, and the risks. Too bad the stingray had to be such an asshole.

Steve wouldn’t have wanted that at all. He would have forgiven the ray as it he was in its home. He invaded its territory and the stingray was only defending that home. Steve died doing what he loved. I’m sure he couldn’t have wished for a better death than the one he ended up with.

Steve Irwin was a good man. He did so much for people, animals, and the environment. There are few people like him.

May he rest in peace, and his family he was forced to leave behind, may they do well for the future.

the stingray was only doing what was natural how was it supposed to now that human was special? So if someone comes into youre house and starts vandalising it so you give that guy a punch as a warning to go away. but he dies cause you hit him in a fatal spot?

posts like these make me sadsad
