Well, no it was NOT the birth of the WWW, that was much later.
It was in fact the first time that one computer spoke to another computer hundreds of miles away.
On October 29, 1969 at 10:30am one computer sent the word “LOGON”. The message received on the other computer was “LO” then it crashed.
So, I guess it was also the 40th anniversary of the first computer crash lol.

AND, all of our lives are changed because of this seemingly insigificant little test.
Also, interesting to note that by 1979 there were a whole 111 computers hooked up and talking to eachother. The internet didn’t really take off until the 80’s and with the WWW.

Heard about this via news.
Seems quite a bit happened today, though.

Yup, and a lot of things happened that year. That is why no one really paid attention to this happening.

AND, all none of our lives have been the same since!!
Technically that is a wrong statement. I believe that the majority of the people that use this site was born much later then 1969.
That means our lives haven’t really changed all that much. Tamagotchi and Furbys have made more of a impact on most peoples live this day then that single event.
Now granted that we wouldn’t be having this conversation right now if it wasn’t for that, but you know what I’m trying to convey
