It’s one thing to say IRL, where it makes sense because you can just leave at that point
(Saying “I don’t care” in every day conversation outside of the internet is an acceptable thing, since regardless, you must hear the others' opinion, so alerting them of your lack of care is to be expected)
but on an online forum where no post requires a response and is easily ignored,
(On an online forum, there is no post that anyone is forced to reply to, and every post can just be scrolled past and not validated with a response)
it just proves that you’ve gotten under their skin.
(Thus, when someone does take the time to say that they do not care when it is otherwise unnecessary, it shows that they do care, at least enough to validate a post that no one is forcing them to reply to).

And if something is “vague” as you put it, that doesn’t mean it’s ok to assume the exact opposite of what was said.
“it’s nice outside” can not translate to “it’s fucking terrible outside” just because the original statement is a vague term.
