I have one Korean friend who lived in Italy for 6 years and he can speak Latin pretty well. I’m trying to learn, but it’s so fucking hard!!!!

Latin is da conjunction of Arabic and Greek language (in other words Indo-European) which then one of its two forms, vulgar Latin became the roots for, Romanian, Spanish, Portuguese, French and Italian all romance languages

and yes although English, a Germanic language, takes 60% of it’s words from vulgar Latin

i can read write 4 languages.. speak a couple more i guess.. that’d be it ..

and oh .. i can survive in Germany too perhaps


no Latin. id love to learn Persian , Latin and Sanskrit though .. teh great ones of the Indo-European language tree..

I speak basic Spanish,fluent French & English and some Mohawk.

not really, vulgar latin is the mother of romance languages (spanish, french, romanian, Portuguese and italian)

Words we use are derived from Latin vocabulary, but English is Germanic in structure.

However, as zeta said, Latin led to the Romantic languages (hence the name).

And, no, I can’t speak Latin, nor do I really care to seeing these two things:

1) Its dead

2) I’m not a scientist
