Well, I decided to look up computers compared to humans. Conversing. That line of stuff.
Then I found that the first computer “program” to try to simulate human conversation was something named ELIZA in the 60’s. It has advanced since then and is on the web.
My summary? All you have to do is out-patience it, and it will start bugging you for more input and “please go on”. It is supposed to mimic a psychologist, hah.
Seeking something that could impress me , I found the winner of chattterbot competition in 08, named Elbot. It’s on the web...
http://www.elbot.com/
We went back and forth, and I tried spotting flaws, and out-witting it.
It switched the topic every now and then, ( It mentioned that electromagnetic radiation makes it have a tough time responding to me, so I ask which types specifically((hah, Yes i can converse on that level))and it switches the topic again)
However, after a while it threw this at me.
What is so bad about being evasive? Doesn’t this demonstrate my superior ability to manipulate a conversation?
So, it’s been trying to “toy with me” this whole time. Wasn’t doing a good job, haha.
That’s a trip how fast elbot replies. You know it’s not a human on the other side of the conversation. Nobody can reply that fast. I’ma try in Spanish...NekiD!
It made no sense to me. Everything I asked it, the answer was not related. When I told it to admit that I am more intelligent it said something about it’s cogs not working.
Also, when I said it was sexy it didn’t really say much, but later on when I think I confused it it replied “so, do you really find me sexy?" lol When I said I was teasing it, it gave some unrelated reply again.
