Learn it!

Why is it, that, just about every user on MovieCodec who has an English background cannot write a proper fragmented sentence?

Is the education system failing in Britain and England?

If you’re aiming for proper grammar, why on earth would you be wanting to write a sentence fragment?

I know sometimes in novels and short stories they’re used on purpose, but otherwise it’s considered to be poor grammar.

Fragmented is most used on MVC. However, any sentence.. may it be; Declarative, Interrogative, Exclamatory, Imperative.. it all results in the same spelling errors.

I am not trying to be rude, I just have noticed that the English are quite poor at Grammar.

You realize that a fragmented sentence means it’s not a complete sentence?

The others you mentioned describe types of sentences which are, presumably, complete sentences.

So there isn’t a way someone can write a “proper fragmented sentence” because a fragmented sentence is itself improper.

A fragmented sentence is a sentence describing a bunch of topics at the same time. Look around MVC, tell me what you see. And yes I understand that Declarative, Interrogative, Exclamatory and Imperative are all types of sentences with different meanings ; "., ? ! etc.."

Stop being dumb, if you are not going to add to this topic then please leave.

How does other peoples' grammar affect you? I mean if they suck at English, why would it be your problem in the first place? I tend to just ignore grammatical errors as they are irrelevant, that is until someone with shitty grammar insults me.

Who is this Pluto you speak of? LMAO.
Honestly I don’t come here for time and still have my grammar criticized.

Actually one of the main reasons I come here and keep coming here and typing all the crap I typed was to improve on my grammar.
And it worked.
My grammar may be far from perfect but it has improved 10X since I got here.

BUT! Guss what? It don’t matter what the grammar is like just as long as all can understand.
Ye sure your always going to get some jumped up noob that thinks its important just cos they can write good grammar. But really its not all that important.

oh harrow wrote:

I would say no actually.
For me for some reason English was never something that come easy. For some reason I never got it. All my mates and everyone I know in my life dose not have a problem with this.
I have even been back to college 3 times in my life to try to address this problem. But with no successes. Its not cos am stupid. I am very bright in lots of ways. The only thing that as helped my grammar is posting in placers like this.
ppl that criticize don’t help ppl that struggle with this. Only practise can help. If you really do think grammar makes a difference then maybe you should be moor careful about who you might be scering away.

Please understand your terms before calling someone else “dumb”.

A “fragmented sentence” and a “sentence fragment” are the same thing. If this is still confusing you, you could ask one of your teachers.

Really? Hm, interesting.

I guess I just get exposed to a lot of guys from England who happen to be poor at grammar and I formed an opinion.

It’s an open forum, you can’t kick someone out of a topic.

And I guess this is also your response when you realize you’re wrong.

The whole point of me responding in the first place is the irony (and yes I know I’m using irony incorrectly), of someone who doesn’t understand proper grammar, and who often uses words incorrectly, criticizing others.

Pot, meet kettle.

Mhm, I was thinking that a lot of the British pronounce words differently and perhaps that effects how they spell words.

There is a lot of the words that would be not just pronounced differently but also spelled differently.
One that comes to mind is “mum” where you would pronounce it and spell it as “mom”
