8 years. Kinder brigs it all back watching the vid on the first post. ppl jumping from the building to get out of the flames. pure madness. I don’t think the world has been the same since that day.
Could you imagine having to jump from that building knowing that you would be jumping to your death but you have to cos you can not take the heat of the fire?
The only thing I can remember was walking to class when I first heard, we just watched the events play out the rest of the day. Like the rest of my class, I was rather too shocked to think anything but why.
I was rather young back then, a nere 10 or 11 years old. So it didn’t mean a whole lot to me then. But I do remember that we weren’t told in school, and for some 'odd' reason a lot of parents were checking their kids out of school early. I didn’t find out about the attacks until I was at home where I saw my mother watching. We kept it on the news channel all day and was glued to the screen.

Same for me. My mother picked me up practically right after she dropped me off. I was 8 or so and had no idea as to what was happening. I was taken to my grandmothers to stay for the rest of the day and I remember sitting in front of the TV watching the towers fall. I didn’t recognize the towers, and again, didn’t understand what was happening.
I was in 6th grade at the time. A few minutes after I got into school, the teacher turned on the television, and we just found out that the Twin Towers have been attacked. It just came out of nowhere. Such a tragic day.
I was nearly 18 when this occurred. Most people in school just hung out in the central library where they brought in about 4 TVs for everyone to sit and watch if they chose.
Very mixed reactions from the people. A select few were making very big scenes... crying, flailing their arms... that sort of thing. Most people just took on a dreary attitude. Silent tears by some, most seeming to try to provoke solace. Even the girl who is now my g/f used the situation to try to provoke my sympathy by acting scared and upset (later admitting that she didn’t really care much about the situation either, lol)
All in all, it seemed that the majority used 9/11 to direct attention to themselves for selfish reasons. I just find it interesting and amusing.

Isn’t it entirely possible that the terrorist onboard the planes used some kind of jamming signal that took the planes off radar? Or that they just disabled it from the cockpit?
