The sun shone down upon the small quaint village of Aster almost as if some kind of blessing after the dark storm had passed along with the bandit’s from the night before, Franklin awoke as per usual bright and early and began tending to his daily duty’s chopping wood tending to his cattle and sorting out fresh vegetable’s fruit and meat for the guest’s meal’s.
It was an amazingly bright and pleasant day indeed as passer’s by bid him a fine day and all wore fresh and cheerful smile’s upon their face’s, and for some strange reason old Frank knew it had something to do with the appearance of that fine young lady who was currently staying at his lodge an Omen of gd fortune he thought.
Franklin placed his axe to one side whilst wiping the sweat from his brow as he rested himself for a minute peering up towards the second floor balcony were the fair maiden was now staying, only to find her standing their observing the town’s folk going about their daily business, and she was simply dazzling in the morning light resting her head in her hand’s with a calm reflecting expression upon her face as if lost in a world of thought.
(What was she thinking about) Franklinn wondered as he watched her elegance within the morning sun, and with that she peered down at him a small half smile appearing on her face as she lifted one hand to give Frank a slight wave witch he then felt obliged to return along with a smile however he could not figure why it was he felt such strong attraction to this young lady for he was not a pervert nor did he care for super fiscal jargon and had been until five year’s ago happily married to his beloved Scarlett Rose...so why this sudden urge craving and desire to know more about this particular lady he thought? (I have to ask, NO i must ask her about the other night no matter what, no matter what i just have to know who this women is no matter the danger or consequence) he thought as she resumed her meditation just who or what was she?

the cameraman in Tunisia wrote: He made the clearing in under a minute, about the same time it had taken to lose sight of the dragon, travelling back as he had left. Yet another newcomer had arrived, and was apparently annoying the bandits.
“Sorry for another one, then, but I’ve changed my mind as to the timeframe!"
Kalis grinned nonchallently, skidding to a stop just behind the bandit group, both curved swords gleaming vicously.
“It seems the dragon girl didn’t want to chat, so I thought I’d finish decapitating all of you...or would you prefer to be castrated?“

“ENOUGH!" came a booming voice to the right of the conflict. Azuso stopped his sword tip just short of his opponents back and looked towards the sound, when he saw the source he smiled.

The rest of the merceneries had come. “Heh," he said, standing up and facing his opponent, “guess your friend from before should have stopped one of us getting back to camp to raise the alarm, eh?"

The ground was still steady even though there were now 200+ heavily armed mercenaries walking towards the scene of the conflict.

“Surrender."

Still bearing a crooked grin, Kalis looked over the new arrivals for three seconds or so before turning to the original bandits.
“You honestly think that will be enough?"
His eyes, formally gleaming with energy and light-hearted amusment, harden visibly, sending a chill down the spines of all present mortals.
“How many casualties will you take before YOU surrender? Don’t worry, I’ll keep track."
Without further conversation, he charged forwards, moving faster than the mercenaries could react, then suddenly veered off to the right side of the main formation, his left sword flashing out to raise a fountain of blood.
Kalis quickly moved on to fresher prey, as his victim collapsed to the ground, the deep cut in his neck reminescent of the many bandit massacres conspicuously filling many of the clearings the company would have passed over.

“Ahaha!" the leader of the bandits cried, sheathing his blade, “cuts through the whelps and he thinks he is something amazing?"

Stopping his laughter he looked seriously at the 3 men behind Kalis and pointing at the technician, “You two, take care of that scum there!" he boomed, “Azuso, show our friend the effect of mid tier training in our ranks.

“Yes sir." he mumbled. Killing never felt good, but getting rid of this arrogant speck may just calm his mind.

“Here I come!" he yelled, and twisting through midair aimed a blow at Kalis’s neck.

Kirisar had walked up to the large group of bandits that appeared to be circling a lone attacker. He would have little care otherwise for them, except that they were in his way.
“Ho there!“ he boldly called out to no individual in particular. A slight smile played across his devilish lips as he kept his hood down to cover his eyes, an idea flashing before them.

“Do any of you know where I may find the Azure Grimroire?“ Kirisar’s voice was nonchalant, mostly due to the reason that, if they did know where it was, they wouldn’t tell him. On the other hand, if one did, and did not know of it’s real value, they may disclose such information to him. He was also unafraid of any of them, mostly for the fact that he had nothing of value on him but his clothes and he would otherwise pose no threat.

Kalis, on his eigth kill, spun rapidly, swinging his sword out towards the newest attacker, a massive forwave trailing the blade, being nearly impossible to dodge ON THE GROUND and with enough strength to hurl Azuso a full twenty feet backwards.
With that taken care of, he shot forward towards the leader, blasts of visible force rapidly clearing his path. Eleven feet away from the fool, he leaped into the air, more than fifteen feet up, angled to come down right on top of the man. Both swords were trailing forcewaves again, and would strike with sufficient energy to crush every bone in his body and throw every other man within striking distance almost as far as Azuso had been.

(Swords are still manueverable enough to deflect blows or upturned spears - Ty, delete this parenthetical statement after Haylias posts again, thanks.)

The sword cut through Azuso like a scythe through grass, but neither blood nor bone came out, he simply vanished.

“Wahaha!" his voice boomed, standing behind his attacker, “you are slow to react aren’t you?"

“Let me explain, before I knock you unconcious," he said, putting his sword into the ground and leaning on it, “you see, the speed I move at is impossible to trace with the eye, so when I move a leave a shadow of my previous posistion behind me."

Picking up the sword again, he levelled it at his attacker. “In essence, I am impossible to hit. You will literally be stabbing at air!"

“Prepare yourself." he said solemnly, “I will try not to kill you, but it would be so much easier if you surrender... would you be so kind?"

Umbra looked down at the dark waters below. He jumped above it, and right before he splashed into the water, he put up a red shield that illuminated the darkness completely. He shut off the energy being released from his finger tip. His energy pod sunk into the water, and using his wings to propel himself by shifting the weight, he pushed through the underwater tunnel. The farther he went down, the tighter the edges got, and the closer he had to bring his shield to his body. Soon, it became to narrow to have a shield up, so Umbra held his arms in front of himself and fired a large energy blast that exploded in front of him, opening the tunnel wider. He continued through and suddenly was rushed forward! He was shot out of a hole high up in a gigantic room that had water pouring out of it. He splashed into the pool below and pushed himself to the edge were he dispelled his shield and crawled up. He looked around, the room still looked like a natural cave formation, but there was something odd on the walls. Glowing red crystals coated areas of the wall, and after taking another look at the pool, there were glowing red crystals growing at the pool’s floor as well. Umbra noticed that the pool was bubbling in some parts and the room was quite foggy. Umbra walked over to one of the large crystal formations on the wall, ripped part of his robe off, and placed it on it. The robe sliver instantly burst into flames. These crystals were heat stones. Umbra’s hand began to glow red and he grasped the stone. The stone began to crack and shatter as his energy covered hand applied intense pressure to it. Pulling out another capsule from his belt, Umbra touched a heat stone shard to it, and both fused. He now had a glowing red capsule, which he placed into his pouch. His hand stopped glowing. Umbra took another look around the room. He found another tunnel, which was heavily coated with heat stones, on the floor of the room. Umbra’s entire body began to glow red, he was going to use his energy to protect his body from the heat. He jumped down the hole, not knowing were it might lead him, but he had to continue, he had come this far...

Umbra fell at high speeds through the narrow tunnel. The crystals on the sides scraped his energy protected cloak, ripping it in some parts. His wings were pulled tightly to him so they would not be damaged by the jagged crystals. The aura from his veil and the glow from the stones illuminated the darkness. Suddenly Umbra saw there was a liquid beneath him, and put up his bubble shield. He splashed into it and swam to the surface. The thick, glowing, orange liquid could be nothing but magma. Umbra, knowing that he had already used expelled a lot of energy, knew that he did not have much time before his shield disappeared, and he would destroyed by the magma. Umbra came to the conclusion that he was inside a dormant volcano, and had traveled deep enough underground to reach the magma source. The was no turning back however, Umbra had to continue downward, for he could not climb back up the the tunnel that was on the ceiling high above the magma pool. Umbra dived. The magma was not transparent like water, and Umbra could not see anything. He did not have enough energy to blast away enough magma to look at the floor of the pool, so he had to look for a passage blindly, if there even was one.

Kirisar had enough. Apparently, his verbal call was not enough to gain a single soul’s attention, so he would need other methods. As Kalis leaped forward toward the leader, a slightly curved, wide pillar of ice shot up from the ground in front of him, protecting the leader. Spiked ice pillars began to shoot up from the ground roughly five feet, forcing any straggling men to the side, and eventually drew a line from the main pillar that protected the leader to Kirisar. His hand grabbed hold of the last spike, which shattered and left behind a perfectly formed longsword in his hand.
“That is enough,“ he said coolly, sure that he had gotten their attention now. “I asked a question, and if you people do not know the answer, it would be nice if you could clear the road for passer-bys.“

The massive shockwave blasted apart the ice wall, though had no effect otherwise. Kalis, for once, looked mildly surprised.
“What did you need?"
As he spoke, a small globe of purple light appeared in his hand and floated gently upwards. After a moment, a small gap opened in the purple shell, a blazing white light shining through. It resembled nothing more than a glowing eye.
With his attention turned to the ice-wielder, Kalis held up a single finger in the direction of the eye as it immedieately swiveled towards him.

(OOC: erm... >.> Whatever, fine)

The shockwave blasted the first layer of the pillar, but was instantly stopped by the remainder of the ice that stayed sturdy under Kirisar’s control. After it had been firmly stopped, the rest of the pillar simply fell apart into small shards, literally shattering before dissolving into nothing.
“I asked if any of you knew where the Azure Grimroire was,“ he repeated calmly, the trail of spiked ice shattering and dissolving like the first pillar. His eyes trailed around, taking note of every individual as he walked forward along the path that the ice had taken.

“I’m not sure I’ve ever heard of it...but you might want to consider walking into a running battle more carefully next time, you might get caught in the middle of it."
The eye emmitted a slight huff, though Kalis payed it no mind.
“I would suggest you move through quickly, it won’t be pleasent here much longer," he turned and addressed the eye, “because I need a VERY hot extraction centered on this beacon."

Umbra touched the bottom of the magma pool and shaped his shield into a half circle so he could walk along the floor and scan for another passage to continue his descent. He knew that there must be SOME hole wear the magma had come from to fill the cave room. Along the floor he could see many long, thin cracks all moving toward the same area. He followed the cracks as they became thicker and more numerous. Eventually the cracks led him to a small opening in the floor. Although there might have been another, this is wear the cracks led him, and he was running out of time. He jumped up a little, reforming his shield into a thin oval shape, and propelled himself into the narrow hole. But as he ventured downward through it, the outward current became stronger to the point he could not go any further. He had only one choice. He turned his body around and fired a beam which rocketed him through the hole. Umbra felt himself begin to run out of energy, the beam started to become smaller and smaller, and suddenly everything went black...

Umbra woke up, everything was pitch black. He was suspended, floating in a void. Then he heard a dark, booming voice. “Umbra, you have failed in your task on Earth. Your body was destroyed. Now tell me, what I should do with you?"
“Give me another chance lord Death, I had got unlucky."
“With the power I gave you there is no excuse for death! You were foolish! There is no such thing as luck!"
“I am sorry my lord, it will not happen again."
“I will trust you have learned your lesson and will not be so careless next time. But, in case you do find yourself in an “unlucky” situation again, is their any other abilities you desire?"
“You mean, I can choose any power I want!?"
“No, I cannot grant you anymore powers than I already have, but I can offer you a common natural ability. Now is there anything that would significantly help you on your quest?"
“Yes, yes there is. If you can grant me the ability to feel heat and cold, and, if you can, grant me an addition to my current power, not a new power."
“Yes, I can do that."
“To be able to cover myself in a veil of energy allowing me to swim in liquids, sealing my joints so the liquids will not enter them, and also protecting my body from the heat or other dangerous property of the liquid."
“Yes, that is possible. So I will grant you the ability to feel if something is hot or cold, and to be able to cover yourself in an energy veil to protect your body from certain hazards."
“And one more thing. I want to have the ability to take a form that has flesh on the torso and limbs. I have a feeling such a form would useful, along the way."
“Your wishes shall be granted upon your reincarnation. You will wake up in the place you were destroyed."
“Wait! I was destroyed while immersed in magma, being reincarnated in that area would mean I’d be back here in only a couple seconds."
“Then brace yourself. You have the power to survive in lava now, get ready to activate in."
“Thank you master."
“If you die again, then I will not be as forgiving."
Umbra suddenly felt intense heat, and instantly activated his energy veil. The current shot him through the tunnel. He grasped one of the large heat stones growing out from the side of the tunnel, and proceeded to crawl against the current, grasping the stones to pull his body through. His energy had been fully restored, and now he could once again expel large amounts of it without consequence. He let go of the stones, flipped his body around, and fired another beam, pushing him even faster against the current. He could sense that he was very close to the source of the dark energy he was seeking now, but would it be something to horrible for him to handle? Find out next time...

Kirisar heard the warning of Kalis, knowing he likely wouldn’t get an answer out of anyone else. Except, perhaps, the man leaping in an attack. With little regard of the subordinates, he formed a slick ramp of sorts to catch Azuso as he moved away as Kalis had warned, forming the ramp to deposit Azuso by his feet. The ice sword rested on his shoulder as he waited for the bandit to slide down.

— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —

Continuing to walk through the forest, Tyreaus was lost in his thoughts, thinking various things over in his mind. He was startled when a relatively small dark-red dragon dropped down, whom he recognized as his sister immediately. She had fur much like he did, but her look seemed more ferocious, and the red colour of her eyes would scare off a great number of predators.

“Where were you? Supper is almost ready,“ Celias told him mentally, not waiting for Tyreaus to regain his composure. Her head tilted as his hand reached over to softly brush her fur, which was oddly soothing and comforting, if not unusual. She had feistily flew down to greet her brother, horribly overenergetic and hyper from several treats given earlier in the day, but he seemed to instantly calm her down with the touch.

“I know,“ he replied aloud, continuing to stroke her fur. She looked up at him quizzically, but didn’t need to ask for him to understand she thought he was behaving strangely. Tyreaus sighed and decided to speak to her mentally, instead of forcing her to translate.
“Can dragons love?“ he asked her. He had no idea why he did ask her this, but she had always been his confidant since he could remember. She gave him another puzzled look and turned, starting to walk toward their home with the young man in tow.
“Of course. Mother and father do. Everyone loves.“
“I mean, love like humans do.“
“Why would you want to do that? Their love is so possessive, so controlling, so unharmonised,“ she said, some worry beginning to creep into her thoughts.
“It is also powerful, and special.“ He sighed somewhat, frustrated and intrigued at the cultural divide between their two people.

Dragons saw love as a universal feeling, certainly not as humans do. To them, love was a thing to cleanse, to free one’s spirit, by loving all. In comparison, human love was more focused to separate people; the love for a wife always would be different than a love for a daughter. This is not to say that dragons committed incest - in fact their moral thoughts were much like humans in many respects - but that dragons loved more equally and evenly, whereas humans loved more individually, in different cases.

“It is not good for someone to love like they do. It is impure and unhealthy, especially for a dragon,“ Celias said as Tyreaus shifted to his dragon form and began the flight up to their place in the mountains. As they landed at the mouth of the cave, he took a final look back toward the house, secretly praying that what his sister said was untrue, even though his studies of both cultures proved her right.

Umbra blasted through the tunnel. How many tunnel would he have to go through to finally find this energy source? Did the tunnels he was taking even lead to it? Umbra was smashed into something. Did he crash into the end of the tunnel? No. That couldn’t be as there was a strong current pushing him away, therefore there must be other tunnels causing the current from deeper in the volcano. Umbra stopped expelling energy into the beam and grasped some of the crystal formations on that wall to keep from getting sucked away by the current which was now intensely powerful and seemed to be growing more and more powerful as time passed. He felt around and found that the tunnel had come to a fork, and he would now have to choose which tunnel to take. He closed his eyes and focused on the wear the dark energy source was radiating from the strongest. Although there was only a slight difference, he felt that in the left tunnel it was most pronounced. He took off with another propelling blast of energy. Then he hit another wall, and found that yet again their was another fork, yet this time it was a triple fork. Umbra focused on the Dark Energy Source again, and took the bottom left corner tunnel. This continued for some time, as Umbra was maneuvering through a large magma chamber complex. Although his energy is very strong currently, the constant usage of energy to go against the current will quickly wear him out. Will he make it before he meets his final doom?

Meanwhile...

Slave Demon: “Demon King Yongotu!"
Yongotu: “Don’t waste my time insignificant pest."
Slave Demon: “NO NO NO! THIS IS URGENT!"
Yongotu: “Then what the fuck is it!"
Slave Demon: “A-a Reaper is very close to the Noddegamra!"
Yongotu sits up from his through.
Yongotu: “WHAT! This cannot be! We hid that deep inside that volcano, how would anyone know it’s there! How would anyone survive the descent into it!"
Slave Demon: “I-I don’t know master. B-but what will we do!?"
Yongotu: “Your going to go there and stop him of course!"
Slave Demon: “M-me? All alone!!?"
The slave demon explodes in a bloody mess.
Yongotu: “Stupid coward. Of course I wouldn’t have sent him alone."
Yongotu makes his way to the meeting area of his palace. Wear he will call a meeting in order to organize the assassination of Umbra and the retrieval of the mysterious “Noddegamra”.

To be continued...

The blazing portion of the eye widened at Kalis’s words, a thin voice emnamating from it.
“Are you insane? You KNOW what that is going to do!"
Kalis gestured around him. “Do you really think I care for the safety of these fine bastards?"
“If thi-"
“Darynn, are you arguing with me?"
“N-No, of course not, I’ll start preparations now."
“I want prep completed five minutes ago."
“Yes sir, it shall be done."
He addressed Azuso.
“Fiend? I resent that! She was possessing a human at the time, and as such I have not a drop of demonic blood."
The eye closed, becoming once more a simple ball of purple light, floating in the sky.

“Dammit! Where am I!" Though Umbra to himself as he began to feel his strength leaving him in the maze of pressurized lava tunnels. Umbra rocketed up the next tunnel that he sensed had a stronger output of energy. He hit a wall. “No this can’t be! A dead end!!!?" Umbra could not afford to turn back. He began blasting a hole through the rock blocking his path. Hopefully, he could reach the energy this way. To his surprise, Umbra felt the energy signal becoming stronger and stronger. With one final blast away from him, Umbra burst through the wall of rock! He was sent full speed into the ceiling of a giant marble room, then fell to the ground with a low thump. Wearily he looked around. There was a gaping hole in the marble floor wear lava boiled out. He stood up, his veil was gone. He could sense the energy very close now, this had to be the room! He turned around to face a large marble hallway with elegant designs of what appeared to be of some great war. At the end of a hallway was a gigantic door that was decorated with thousands of incredible stones and metals. On the ceiling of the hallway, there were chandeliers with what appeared to be glowing water, but Umbra had no time to study or take a sample of it. The lava behind him rolled across the floor, making cracking noises as it heated up the cold marble. Umbra began to sprint toward the door, his steps made clacking noises as they connected with the marble. He could sense that the energy was directly behind the door...

Find out what the mysterious energy REALLY IS next time!

And who is this figure named Yongotu? What trouble may he cause for Umbra? All these questions will eventually be answered!

(OOC: My next post will hopefully be the last one wear I have not met up with any of the other RP’rs so, um, be happy I guess.)
