I still watch VHS tapes, but I wouldn’t choose them over DVDs. Since I can’t skip to the next scene with the push of a button.

Ralphineo-Axe wrote: Besides that though, DVD beats VHS by far. Look at the stuff
you may find in DVD discs:

SPECIAL FEATURES
Trailers
Bonus material
Scene (chapter) selection
Subtitles
Deleted material
Alternative/Extended scenes

and so many more!!!!

You’ll never find that in a VHS tape, hence, that’s why DVD trumps!!!

One of the good things about VHS is that the video
tapes are not “tempered with”. Meaning what exactly? Simple. Meaning that most X-rated movies and video nasties that are not shown on cinemas (due to violence and explicit sex) are just “dumpted” on video tapes. So at least no cuts
are made here, basically, the VHS tapes are-ucut!!

But for a DVD, it’s definately “tempered with” and
you can sure as hell expect “missing scenes or unextened ones”. Heck, even films rated PG-13 are tempered with on DVDs

So guys, for those of you (not me....anymore) who still have or watch VHS video tapes. The good news
is that the films your watching, the chances are that the films you are watching are uncut: meaning-they are what they are as they are released from directors making films a Director’s Cut!!!!

Sadly for those of us who have DVDs, we have to order online “uncut” DVDs from shops like Amazon just to see the scenes (either alternate/extended)
that are removed from our tv sets!!!

Goku are you crazy?!! What do you mean by saying films released on VHS tapes are not “tampered” with? Of course they, heck, they are films that can you can expect to cut down to the core. Havn’t you heard of the BBFC (British Board Of Film Classification) and the MPPA?

These are databases that censor films rated X and video nasties to VHS tapes, you should go to IMDB and check it out
You obvoisly don’t know what you are talking about when you say a VHS tape is a better quality (in terms of uncut films)
than a DVD. My man, a VHS tape is far more censored than a DVD!!! Just be gratefull not many guys post in this topic or
else you would be dissed like hell posting something so obvious bro!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brandon and Ryo, there is still hope for you yet

Andy’s right Goku, a VHS is the last thing you should purchase if you want to watch un-cut films not “messed around with” by editors-particulary from the UK and America!!!!!

Yes, DVD films are “definately” tempared/tampered with....and that is HIGHLY!!!!! Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut
there are new releases that are available un-cut.
They can be a Director’s Cut, Extended Version, Alternate Endings/Opening and some scenes you can’t see on TV or cut down you can find them in deleted scenes of a DVD. You will never find this in a video tape, trust me!!!!

And lastly, the best way to watch a film not tempered/tampered with is to watch a DVD on Blue-ray. Trust me, you’ll be safe there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Because it has 'faults', try looking at it as DVD version of an Xbox 360. ha ha
