Though I am American, I do think that Americans are not too bright compared to other countries. But when it comes to a report like that, they just use the funniest answers. I knew every answer. (It could also be camera fright making them not think as well)

No, what I mean is that when you are in front of a camera, and the whole world will see you, it will make you pretty nervous I am sure. And when you are nervous, you cannot think as well. It is called stage fright.

yeah, american public education sucks. i dont understand how america can spend billions of dollars to murder iraqis instead of using it, or at least some of it, to improve education.

also american citizens just dont value education like other countries do. too much distraction like tv and fashion, music etc. plus american teenagers are prolly the most rebellious teens in the world. education isnt really top priority anymore.

Yup americans are dumb thats why we have the best economy, best military, and have the most power in the world. I mean we’ve gotten to the point that no matter how terrible our leader is we still remain on the top just shows how stupid we americans are. The economy isn’t the best though it will get better with the fall of the dollar because Canadian consumers will shop in the States.

Military, yeah its nice to have a good army but when theres people starving in the streets, 12 year olds buying speed at 5$ a hit, a corrupt healthcare system and hundreds of other defaults, then having the best military is at the bottom of the list.

Capitalism isn’t an American invention; it’s how almost every society since the beginning of time has functioned. Your country just happens to have perfected basing itself upon greed and one-upmanship.

You have the most powerful economy in the world. But not the best. Indeed, most of your economy is based upon the military-industrial complex, and has been since the 60’s, which essentially requires your country to be in a permanent state of war to prevent economic meltdown. Secondly, another massive chunk of your economy is based on borrowing, which can only be a bad thing.

To be quite honest, even if your country was run by monkeys, you could still be a major global power. Your position in the world and vast natural resources have given you a massive boost over the years. But they can only last so long.

The US “saved the world’s ass from the USSR”? You do realize it was called the “Cold War” because it was a standoff - an actual war never happened? The whole reason neither side ended up using their nuclear weapons is that they knew that they would both end up being destroyed. Not only that, but the impact would have been felt on a global scale. That isn’t saving anyone...that’s having the potential to destroy everyone.

Also, as Drumintothenight already pointed out, capitalism is not an “American invention”. It originated in Europe during the decline of feudalism, and spread to the then British colonies. Capitalism was based on ideas by European and British economists and philosophers in the 18th and 19th centuries. One of the most influential was the economist/philosopher Adam Smith. Please don’t tell me next that you think democracy is an “American invention”.
