“What, in your opinion, is the biggest problem facing the united states today?“
Everything.
Our country has so much shit right now because of Bush it isn’t even funny. The economy sucks, the war on terror and on drugs is an utter failure, we have too many fatasses and dumbfucks, everything is horrible as of now.
What the liberals did when President Jimmy Carter(worst president of the United States, Clinton is second) was in office. He wasted practically billions of dollars with His military FLASH warning just to call his mom for a recipe of cookies. He also did other terrible and outright stupid thing of stopping to pay the american military for one month while he payed the rest of the government. Soldiers who were supporting there familys with there money didn’t get there paycheck. This hasn’t happened since The american revolution of not paying the military to what I remember.
This is what messed up the economy. Not Bush, the Liberals just blame it on him and pull the wool over peoples eyes by controlling most of the biased news networks.
The other problem is Racism. People in my school said it was funny if someone shot the President (Obama, Don’t agree with what he says so far, but hes the president and we need to respect him.) during inauguration.

Hope that helps.
Carter, what about Hoover and Buchanan? They had that spot reserved

Biggest problem facing America right now is apathy. People are so disillusioned with government lately that they just don’t. And candidates like Obama usually don’t help all that much as they shove it even more in your face.
Main problem with Apathy in a Democratic Republic is that there are no checks on elected officials by the people. When media can be paid off to hide the truth, then there is a problem. Apathy is actually what allowed the PATRIOT Act to stay around. Too many stupid Americans didn’t know what it was nor did they care. All they heard was terrorists and death and immediately acted on fear rather than justice. PATRIOT Act is more unpatriotic than anything this country has seen in awhile. Actually it is illegal under the Constitution. But all these ignorant and stupid Americans wouldn’t know the difference because I doubt they know why it’s unconstitutional in the first place. Most don’t even know it’s an acronym that stands for something.
Thus this apathy and this ignorance allows a government to continuously use and abuse mainstream media sources to further there agenda and let you see only what you need to see. In something like the Parisian mob, the media will explode something out of proportion and freak them out. This takes away the apathy and makes them more interested but for all the wrong reasons.
Apathy leads to ignorance and laziness and this is what America is left with. People are just so disillusioned with government that this is what we are left with. Thus they’d rather be dictated rather than addressed. 911 was a classic example of government scaring the people, using the media, and then continuously taking away liberties of the people. However, don’t blame the government. Blame yourself. Benjamin Franklin once said this:
“The man who trades freedom for security does not deserve nor will he ever receive either.“
And that’s exactly what they deserve. Americans need to take interest in political matters. They need to take interest in the problems and issues in and around this country and the world. If they don’t PATRIOT Acts, stimulus packages, Federal Reserve, and more will continue to pop up and limit rights. It’s exactly how Hitler did it just over a shorter time. But trust me, if this economic recession takes a turn from the worst, these stupid Americans might just give it all away just like the Republic did to Chancellor Palpatine in Star Wars. The reference just isn’t because I like it but was actually a statement by George Lucas at the silly Americans. Take a lesson from Green Day as well:
“So maybe I’m the faggot America. I’m not a part of a redneck agenda."
Meaning dissenters aren’t less of an American as those who agree. Actually without both in a Democracy then there could be none. Apathy leads to ignorance. Ignorance leads to fear. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to the Dark side. Don’t not care as it’s not an option.
The economy as usual... it started 5 or 6 to 7 months ago when banks started closing and houses started going under foreclosure. Obama isn’t going to be able to get us out of this for the nest few years maybe.. but so far he has been making the right decisions. Btw, he’s been the first president in a while to put money into science, and he isn’t letting religion be the leader of the country.

Yup hes been making the right decisions like pumping more money into bailouts then Bush did. And as I remember Bush put large amounts of money into NASA (I still think hes a horrible president so don’t get it mixed up). Obama was by far the wrong pick and his stimulus plan was a waste.

I’ll have to disagree, bush didn’t really do anything.. and cheney was mostly in control and never put government funding into science.

I think it’s the way most americans think in general (this includes apathy and ignorance). Of course the human race in general isn’t much different, americans are just a caricature of it.
