I apparently picked Stephen Harper. So conservative, I suppose.

Haha, you would

I actually really dislike Stephen Harper....a lot.

I have no idea who this guy is.

He’s Canada’s current Prime Minister

I was originally planning to vote green until taking the quiz I linked to, every one of the 8 questions I answered turned out to be Jack, who was my initial 2nd choice anyways. Can’t turn my back on a JL I agree with that much :P

Haha, well, I’m most definitely not basing my choice on a short internet quizgrin
I came out Jack Laton as well, but two of the questions could have gone to either of them since I didn’t agree with one more then the other.

But what was he thinking trying to exclude Elizabeth May from the debates? It was such a stupid move on his part...I really don’t know what they were thinking. It made the NDP look like hypocrites.
But ya, NDP is my second choice too.

welll I’m not basing my decision just on that, I’m far from a impulse voter. I was a Green party supporter from 2001. When finding out I had MS, and their stance on environmental/medical MJ/guaranteed livable income.

I was even part of the flier campaign until 2004 when they started their “we’re Left/Right and centrist! Someone please vote for us!" Then they really lost me when deciding to cut taxes for the corporate sector {again to gain supporters who are on the right} though they atleast stand by punishing the obvious corporate polluters.

Elizabeth May lost me when siding with Dion, and under the table dealings, so she can unseat Peter McKay and now the “we stole an MP so now we deserve a say!!" which seems far more Ok than Belinda Stronach switching parties was.

Now don’t get me wrong, I plan on voting Green for the local MP because they do deserve a say. But Elizabeth running for PM will only succeed at one thing.. To take away votes from Jack Layton, in the same way Ralph Nader{oops edited out Ron Paul} running in the US does nothing but take votes from the Democrats. Until the Greens are represented, for several terms, by a strong contingent of MP’s... There is no way she can win PM.

Which is why Layton {and Dion for that matter} was against her being on the televised debates. Harper is just a Bush-leaguer {literally} who wants less candidates to take his unearned votes away.

so I am a split voter then. NDP for PM, Green for MP

I really don’t want Harper to get in again. But I also don’t feel we have a really strong leader in any of the other parties. It makes it very difficult to decide how to vote.

I normally choose to vote Green, but in my current riding Green has a snowball’s chance in hell of winning. So I may have to vote strategically...and just hope it’ll help to keep Harper out.

According to that “quiz” I chose Jack Layton. Although I typically like the NDP party I really can’t stand Layton...

Debate was on too late last night, I only watched part if

I liked the roundish table set up though, much more condusive to discussion

What a position Steven Harper was in, pretty much being attacked by all sides. He’s so sneaky too. He somehow avoided answering several straight forward questions.

sad Looks like we’re going to wind up with a minority Conservative government. At least the NDP have gained seats.
