This is in regards to gun laws in the US specifically, due to us having the second highest number of gun-related homicides population-wise among all developed countries (second only to Northern Ireland).

So I’m opening the floor to discuss how you think gun regulation should be handled in the US.

If you shoot someone, you get your gun taken away.
And because I know it will be said:
Gun control is hitting your target.

Why should we allow someone to be shot before we do anything about the person who shot them?

Wouldn’t it make more sense to keep guns out of dangerous peoples' hands?

We should be allowed to have guns.

Some people just don’t understand the Golden Rule.

Gun control is about stopping that happening.

Oh, he shot someone, let’s take away his gun. That person is still dead though.

To be honest I think that guns should just be outlawed entirely, I think they wrote in the “bear arms” into the contitution due to the fact they were fighting the British and it was still dangerous back then.

Exactly.

The right to bear arms was only written in so that the people would be able to protect themselves if the government ever became corrupt to the point where they started dicking off like the brits were.

But that’s not going to happen because it’s almost impossible for our government to do stuff we want it to do, let alone shit we don’t want.

(I’m serious now) If guns were illegal, then only the people that shouldn’t have them would have them, basically gang bangers and such that pay for guns smuggled into the country, just like illegal drugs. Thus, you would have hordes of gunslinging punks opressing the rest of the (disarmed) US until the police/military slaughtered them in the bloodbath of the century.
And it would be Obama’s fault.

Not all criminals who own guns own the illegally, it’s depressingly easy to get a gun in the United States. Fuck, even Wal-Mart sells them.

I think every adult should be allowed a gun. The responsible ones with clean records anyway. If you think about it... would someone shoot someone else knowing that they have a gun and risk being shot back?

URGH.

When someone is shot, they usually aren’t able to just get up and say: “Well I’ma shoot yah back now!"

And if guns were illegal in the first place, you wouldn’t ever NEED to be in that situation.

While I HATE repeating myself, if guns are illegal, only the people who bring them in illegally will have them, thus, criminals. Just look at prohibition.
“Oh yeah, people stopped drinking because it was illegal..."
And then, when the authroities cracked down on the smugglers, the freaking MAFIA took over.
So let’s outlaw guns! It’s such a great idea!
