With the recent ruling in California legalizing same-sex marriage, there has been considerable debate all over the place.
What I have been looking for, however, is an actual valid non-hateful non-religious reason to oppose gay marriage without making yourself look like a retard.
I don’t think such a reason exists. Why should I care about the love affairs of people I may never meet? Why should I care about an issue that does not concern me?
Besides, if gay marriage really leads to the End of the World, I’ll probably go ahead and do all the sadistic things I’ve been wanting to do and haven’t done because I just don’t want to get caught up in the bullshit legal system of the United States, and because currently I have a conscience. At least the end of the world would guarantee that the several decades between conviction and the Chair would not be necessary.
I’ve been waiting for a legitimate reason for the anti-gay marriage movement as well. So far, the only reason I’ve seen come close is that the more accepted it is, the more often it will happen, which will probably lead to more people living a homosexual life-style. Now, other than feeding on homophobic fears... the prospect of more homosexuals still doesn’t seem to cause any problems as far as I can tell. If anything, it will slow our population growth which would be EXTREMELY beneficial.
Many right-wing divorce lawyers are torn on this issue. If more people are getting married that means more divorces!
I also think the agenda of targeting homosexuals for 'protecting the sanctity of marriage' is bogus. Why not go after television programs such as 'the bachelor' or 'who wants to marry a millionaire/midget?' Between crap like that and a 50% divorce rate and rising I think there’s plenty of legitimate threats that should be adressed.
I also think homosexuals given the right to marry will value it much more than the others who are taking it for granted and then getting divorces after a few years. Celebrities are huge perps in this.
About the only reason I could see standing is that the more same-sex marriages you have, the less offspring you’ll have and the greater the chance of the human population decreasing.
However, I think we can all agree that the planet is too overpopulated anyways. I honestly don’t see any legitimate reasons for same sex marriages to be banned. Love is love, no matter who it’s between. That’s what I’ve always said.
same sex in the states is should be legal due to the constitution...but in other countries i can’t really say... due to my lake of studying foreign law...

I agree. The catholic church (im not trying to pick on it but it is a well known one) cant come up with any other reasons other than things like STD’s. Which ironicaly most of its groups are opposed to the vaccinations.

Even without the marriage, the less offspring you would have, with the more same sex relationships that there would be.
