A lot of people are rich or poor based on luck factors, like where they were born or who they met in life. Hard work and service to society only partially determine how successful you will be.
Let’s say there’s a family in Sierra Leone, Africa. Each day the 8 year old kid of this family works in mines until his bones ache because his father is dead and his mother is too sick to work. He can’t make enough money to pay for his own food and the family is falling further and further into debt.
Now, on the other end of the scale there’s a burger flipper in America on the other side of the world who’s making enough money each day to feed the previously mentioned African family for a month.
Who really deserves more?
Or, for a less extreme example. A firefighter who saves lives and works his ass off gets paid less than a celebrity in a girlband who’s paid to sing shitty songs and have tits. Judging by their contributions to society, who really earns their pay in a more deserving way than the other?

And what does it do? Make them even poorer. I’m not sure if that’s what you were implying, but if it was, you should really start paying attention. All the money anyone gives to poor people in 2nd and 3rd world countries, sometimes ever 1st world countries, goes to corrupt leaders. The little that the poor actually does get is just looted from them by robbers. The more money we give them, the more those people suffer.
If anything, we should cut the ties to all those countries we give relief funds to. It’s the only way they can learn to make an economy on their own and grow as a nation. If they fail and everyone dies, then so be it. It’s called natural selection. Sometimes it just happens.
Also, on a side note, don’t act like you’re too upset that actors and celebrities make a lot of money. You support them every time you listen to a song or watch a movie.
