2000

George W. Bush (R)
Electoral 271
Popular 50,456,062

Albert Gore, Jr. (D)
Electoral 266
Popular 50,996,582

Al gore won the popular vote which should have gave him a definate edge over Bush in electoral...that’s fucked up!

Bush really shouldn’t have won the election...I mean obama leads mccain definately but what if mccain won out of the blue with everyone seeing that obama was literally having a definate edge over mccain, wouldn’t that be weird...
The same happened in the 2000 elections, al gore was leading by a fucking a landslide and one state claimed by bush won the elections when he was supposed to lose? Come on...

That’s what happens when people are too lazy to do a recount of votes.

lulz, the flaws of our system. the REAL reason that happens is because our votes in of themselfs mean nothing. we vote to tell others how to vote. because of that, if our state votes against us, our votes are meaningless. this is a huge flaw in our system, imo.

Yup.

And the electoral is STILL based upon population of a state, which in and of itself is counter productive.

I don’t see why each state is a competition...

Just get everyone to like you. Sure, it is easier to discriminate each state, but in the end, you’re probably gonna win if you have enough lobbyists who support you.

Damn corporate America. Damn authoritative government. Damn non-representative 'representation' in government.

Ugh...

And if I ever hear “It’s worse in other countries," I’m gonna go crazy and tell that sad ass that they can go over there and fix it for all I give a shit.

Fuck 'em.
