Australia- An economic boom, and fears of Islamic radicalism, have led to more investment into the armed forces. Troops are well equipped and professional. Regarded by many as, at the individual troop level, the best force in the world.

As regards our econmical power,we could live well as citizens with what’s in Ft. Knox, but our nation has, and is, using it’s credit card to build a bigger and bigger debt balance. Soon, the nations that are our creditors, are going to cash in their bonds, turn over their dollars and request gold and our government will tumble and other nations will own every government facility and many major companies or we will have to go to war with all of our creditor nations. I don’t think that’s gonna happen. I may be leaving something out regarding our military. I’m awful tired (my usual excuse for incompetancy). Look to the European Union to soon become the largest military and economical power in the world, butdon’t discount Israel. It is a tiny nation but you are going to see it emerge victorious in a major war with it’s neighbors. It will be extremely wealthy because of it’s “booty” (spoils of war) gained from the other nations, including much land. THEN you will see the nations of the world come together to invade Israel and obtain her wealth. Keep watching. News and film at 11.
armed forces goes to america... but if we go to best troops in infantry figthing I think Indonesian Army (Kopassus) has the best perform of all troops in the world this is including better than Gurkhas...
I would contend Israel, on a scale of force quality basis. The fact that they boast such dramatic military capacity for what little they have in size, numbers, and technology really chaulks them up as a major military player.
The Six Day War, the invasion of Lebanon, other regional conflicts in Gaza and along the Syrian border - all of these add to the stack that puts Israel up there.
Even for those who might disagree - you have to concede to the fact that Israel arguably has the best Special Forces in the world. Don’t believe me? Read Raid at Entebbe.
As for my opinion towards best armed forces overall - USA still holds the cards for suffience in force and supremacy in technological capability. Our F22s, B2s, carriers, and regular infantry are unmatched on the same scales of what other nations have as their own versions or levels to match us - IE: Such as, China’s best fighter is scrap with wings compared to our best fighter. Let’s leave it at that.

Just to add to this message... Australia? Yes, they are good... but they learned most of their stuff from the British Army. Yes, they did adapt it to their needs, but still.. You know the British Army are the best trained for any situation.
The British Army make sure that they do not forget what they learned without all the technology, they are an extremely stubborn army which just doesn’t know when to give up. You are forgetting that the British Army have many allies, which will defend Britian over many countries.. specially over someone such as Americans.
The British Army however, have had a tainted history of attacking their own allies when needed.. such as the navy forces sinking the french navy so the germans couldn’t gain control over their navy forces and over power us...
Britian is the rulers of the sea, they have to be... and they specialise in sea to ground attacks... they have the best trained army as well..
I am an Australian, so it is hard not to say that our spec ops and submariners are not the greatest in the world. As for our army, we have well trained soldiers with great levels of discipline. It seems like there is such a great amount of respect due to our ability to forge great friendships. I have heard some terrible things about the US army in the recent war games, apparently instead of helping each other out, they find it a competition against each other. Our Air Force would get their arses kicked IMO just because it is such a technology based force. What i am most surprised by is that the Russians stay out of these forums. Obviously what they want. I know that they have the best hand to hand combat skills.
Good ole US is still the most powerful military in the world. I mean our economy is doing some michael jackson moon walk backwards, but our military is still unmatched

What a complete load of fucking bullshit. Without the US we would have got totally owned by Japan in World War II. We don’t even have a strong army now. An “individual soldier” basis doesn’t count for shit when we don’t have a relative high army size or military spending on a collective level, which is what it really comes down to.
I agree that both United States and Australia have great Armed Forces, they both have their flaws and benifits. Training isent every thing, look at it from a stand point of sheer intelegence. it all depends on who knows the most, and since countries arent real big on keeping stats on their covert intelegence gathering, its anyones guess.
