if you don’t like Youtube’s new policies and believe in free speech then PLEASE don’t go on it from December 19-21. I will be cooperative in this blackout.
Your right. It wouldn’t work. I am participating in it anyway though. I want to see how many people we can get incase there is actually a full-on boycott where nobody goes on youtube until they change their policies.
I would say that this is just practice to raise more awareness. Maybe there will be a real boycott in the near future.

Oh I see, well I’ll wait until then. Of course policies will probably have to get a lot worse before I go on a full boycott.
I can see someone recreating a youtube like site where free speech is allowed.. I will be first inline to join that site.

It would only work if enough people left youtube empty. Google would probably notice the massive drop in server visits, but maybe the numbers are interlocked with their main site...
Just a few theories. In all honesty, it would take more than a day of this. You would need to essentially divert millions of people away from what has become one of the most popular sites around. These guys complaining are probably a minority of people who actually use YouTube as a means of communicating opinions and ideas (or wanting someone to kiss their ass). But, you have to take into account the mass of people who just come on to watch stupid things or be stupid. Will they care? How can you make them? If they make up the majority of visits to the site, then what do we matter?
It’s a shame really. You would think Americans would be aggressive towards youtube seeing as our first amendment is freedom of speech. Whatever happened to all the freedoms we constantly brag about? We love bragging about freedom but we’re unwilling to defend it? I just don’t get it.
The only way to do it properly is to get literally thousands of people under many different email adressess using proxies and spam generators to bombard the Youtube email box with MILLIONS of messages and don’t stop until they change the policies.
